Are we killing the future market?

Lori, that might be because we are all uneducated undercutters with no business sense....
You're right, Beth. What was I thinking? I guess then Vin, since I don't do things your way, I'm new at everything, right? Sorry, not convinced.

I'm talking to Adraian H. on the phone right now as I type and he said that guppy breeders kill off unwanted guppys starins when they dont want anybody to have that blood live They are not for public sale. Once the strain is set that is a different story they show and or sold for good money . Makes no sence to let out the bloodline and have someone get you new line. that is the way the animal business is run. this is comming from a award winning breeder

Vin, name-dropping isn't really getting you anywhere.
Neither is your arrogence.
You have no idea how silly you are looking right now. People are talking...
You attack a VERY well-respected breeder.
You insult a popular breeder and member of this community.
You insult anyone who doesn't agree with you.
You are alienating people right and left.
Seriously dude, I'm wondering what's happened to you.....

The more you say, the sillier you are looking...
trust me on this one.

Tell Adrian I said hi.

So am I reading this right? You don't want someone else to get your bloodline so you kill the strain? So this is what you're bringing to this discussion about snakes as well? Sorry, I haven't read the entire thread....but let me understand the scenario....You're working with a new gene morph, but during the breeding trials, you'll kill off all the snakes with this particular gene because you don't want anyone else to get their hands on this bloodline? So all the snakes that carry this (the term is "het", right?) gene get fed to your dragons rather than raised to their potential and possibly cross bred, which, by your own admission, is what will raise the market value of that morph because now others can see what you can make with it....but you would rather breed then kill so it doesn't hurt your "food on the table" business? I'm just trying to see if I understand you correctly?

Lori, I did read this whole thread. And that's how I understand it, too.

he said Hi.
yes thats right. when working with a brand new gene. If had a new gene yes. I have sent out males that carry multi genes to the pet store and some females went to the dragons. yes the less of these animals in the hobby protect you work on the line so no one will get your project

Wade...LOL! I think *I'm* the dinosaur in this scenario.

Vin, do you realize that your business practice is somewhat disgusting?

I'd like to hear from other "food on the table" breeders...do you follow this business practice as well?

Vin, what's this "food on the table" stuff?
I thought you worked delivering pizza!

I mean, I know you've bred snakes a long time, but didn't you have the delivery job?

then dont keep or breed snakes because the poor mice that are just bred for the food for other animals is just as crule, It was one thing when all feeder rodents were surpluse animals for the animal testing labs . but now it is breed just for use in feeding other animals. what is the differance if you feed off a snake or an rodent or a fish.

I was trying to use pictures since Vinny doesn't understand words.

I dont have the space to go too big I live in a 3 room apt. And been working with morphs from the ground up. I would buy multi hets from Rich's surpluse breeders list and added them to some morphes thst I all ready had . I have also worked with other snakes over the years . I used to more than just corns I reduced my collectiom when I got into hunduran Milks. I also got hit with Cyptro many years back that was a major set back . I also do fish asnd lizards there is only so much room

We breed snakes because we are passionate about snakes.
Killing my favorite species because it doesn't make me enough money is something I can't even fathom....

Oh yea it is done in the dog world too. Some breeders will take culls to a shelter and they will be nurtered befor they leave the breeder. Some kill off the culls that what cull means

Well give everyone the genes to your project and make no money when some beats you to it or under cuts you.
