So I'm about to get my 2nd snake, which I decided I would like a boa... Hog Island Boas fit me the most, and here are 2 that are available... The breeder is waiting to hear from me which one I want, so I decided to ask my buddies on cornsnakes!

Thanks in advance.

LOL. My brother has a saying... if they were women... "I wouldn't kick either of them out of the bed."

I think both of them have their points. But if I had to choose to take one home... #2. Brighter colors. :crazy01:

I'd ask the breeder to send you the one he thinks is the better of the two, from a feeding/temperament/looks point of view.

I'd give you the analysis as I see it, though the decision will still remain yours:

#1 pros:
Cleaner- less melanin specks.
Nice tail pattern.

#2 pros:
Visibly more robust- it's hard to tell from the picture though.
Seems to be more outgoing, at least by the pose it took when photographed and comparing it to the sibling.

For me, it's all about the cleanliness- I don't like a lot of black specks but some do!
I'd go with #1 but that's just moi

The breeder says both snakes have amazing temperament; they both are great feeders... he's been feeding #1 mostly mice and #2 mostly rats but each of them has eaten both mice and rats... He says #2 is about 1 inch longer than #1 (probably cause eating rats).

My opinion only:

#1 has a cleaner background color with less speckling, and the saddles are more symmetrical and "connected", giving it very nice, clean look. I also LOVE the reduced melanin in the tail and the stripey part. My pick...#1

#2 is a beautiful snake, and if given the chance I would take it in a heartbeat. There is nothing "off" about it and looks to be a gorgeous animal in it's own right. But side-by-side and given a choice...I'd take #1...

I like the tail and the coloration on number 1. It definitely has my vote!

number two is winning nearly 2x1.. you know what that means!

I voted two, i hate nothing more then tail stripes that throw off the whole pattern, Not sure why.. its just a big pet peeve!

Thanks a lot everyone! I was leaning towards #2 as well.... looks like the majority is agreeing with me...

God willing, I'll get him on Tuesday.... I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

This whole thread is redundant if you already were inclined towards one of them mate. You should never let other people do the picking for you if you already like one over another :)
Good luck with your Hogg Isle :)

Only cos you picked the wrong one;):crazy01:

not redundant at all!!! I was leaning towards one side but had not at all made my decision yet! I actually kept fluctuating between the two, that's why I posted here to try to get a second opinion. I appreciate your input even though you picked the wrong one ;) :crazy01:
