Boas and Market Price?

Confuzzled
Not so good news on the work front. Layoffs are imminent, not sure if I'll be one of them, but I need to start getting some things done. There most likely won't be much warning, so I need to start downsizing now. I figured I could work out how to keep the hog islands and my sunglow in addition to most of my colubrids. But some of the animals will have to go, mainly those who aren't part of my main breeding projects. So here are my questions:

I have an 08 super hypo sonoran male boa, an 08 female ghost bci (poss het albino/stripe), an 08 hypo female (66% poss het albino) and an 09 male anery het albino. What would be fair market prices to ask for them? What is a good way of trying to determine what it is?

It completely depends on the quality of each morph or example of the species, and of course however much someone is willing to pay for that particular animal... I know, I'm no help LOL.

Especially with Boas, the quality of the specific animal is what sets the bar for the price... a Salmon can cost anything between 120$ to 2500$ even, all depending on the line and specific look of the animal.

I suggest peeking at Fauna Classifieds and seeing the prices people offer for boas and try to set your own price through that.

Good luck

Sorry for the predicament

I'd say free, and ship them all to me. :grin01:

But seriously, checking other people's pricing is a good way to figure out a price range for your own.

I've seen Ghosts go anywhere from 275 to 600.. Um, a guess on anery would be 200ish.. But that could be way off..

Seriously though Jenne, I'd be willing to buy one or two off of you and sell them back at a later date if you'd like.. :) PM me if your interested.

When I have that type of question, I usually go to Kingsnake.com and Faunaclassifieds.com and a few of the major breeders and find the same or similar...remembering that advertised price is not always what is paid...

Jenne,
I hope all goes well and you are not on the list. It is scary times. But yeah look at what is best to keep and what to sell. But if you have them in Cages.. keep the cages cause you never know what the future holds, you may want to start up again when things are financially stable every where.

I'm not sure if you got my voicemail today Jenne. I saw some Hypos at the show for 170 through 180. And Anery Males for around 200. Hope that helps!

I did get your voicemail, Trent. I was going to give you a call back, but I got caught up with some things and I forgot! I'm sorry. It definitely does help!
