Box Turtle Enclosure: Progression Thread

On our way into the house, I was surprised to find a toad sitting on the steps. How did he climb up five steps?
How do you know he climbed UP five steps?? Maybe he climbed DOWN one step. Have you checked your cupboards and pantry?!?!? :eek1:

I think if they declare your patio a wildlife refuge you can get gov't money (and maybe a Park Ranger).
If nothing else, maybe a fancy sign!

Thanks once again Nanci for continuously updating this thread with your wildlife adventures!

This was a great thread. I put off reading it because it kept coming up and coming up and I wanted the gratification of reading it all after all the building was finished. What amazing work you did out there! Holy crap! I can't believe you did all that! Amazing!:bowdown::bowdown:

I think the best part was that in the middle of it all, you explained how you stopped and got your nails done on the way back to Home Depot. HA! Priceless. Well done, builder woman! Brava!

Ok I could seriously spend days at your place. All those wonderful flora and fauna to observe and take photos of. You are so lucky!

omg Nancy..lol..I spent forever going through this entire thread last night..whew!..I was sweating just reading it..lol...

I have to say you sure have a way with your imagination! Beautiful! Wow...I wanna be one of your turtles in my next life :) I really enjoyed this thread, thanks for letting us watch you build your pretty haven :)

I'm not done yet, just out of money! Luckily, Mother Nature keeps supplying me with new herps and other things!

All I have to do is go outside, take a glass of wine (2007 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc!!) and a couple garden magazines, and just sit there. Animals magically appear! Here is Kiwi, with a much-reduced tail. He has decided to become a land-dweller!

I once found a cricket in my compost pile that was completely white with blue eyes. I’d never seen anything like it so it took it to a friend of mine at the college. He couldn’t identify it so he sent it to a guy at the Department of Agriculture, who sent it to a guy at the Department of the Interior. Long story short it turned out to be a rare and endangered species. They declared my backyard a wilderness area and now I am forbidden to run my roto-tiller. I had to give up gardening.

Wade, I hate to break it to you, but crickets are white right after they moult...

Cool water drop!

From a few days ago. I stalked and stalked this Roseate Skimmer, and this was the only shot I got. I haven't seen the female, but I see this guy all the time now. He is VERY skittish.
