I kinda feel liek a butt saying this but:
I have to be realistic here....
I do not care about the little girl that was killed. I did not know her, I will not feel bad. I had no Human emotions attached to this kid. as far as I see this. It is just Nature doing its thing.
I refuse to be mad at the snake..infact I will never bed mad at an animal doing what comes natural..its just stupid..
I love my snakes and will never stop. I dont think anyone is to blame the snake.
Blame the parents..Blame the child.
I dont care how old the child is..most animals are born with a sense of danger. As humans..we are not. We have a great Mind that lets us do great things..even stupid things (like attaching emotions to "EVERYTHING").
But as a creature we are weak..and over populating the planet and possibly doing more harm than we know.
that being said. I Dont care what happens to a kid I don't know..or have never known..Because besides stupid butts trying to ban out pet sankes..this will not effect me personally.
It is making me mad..I'd like to give those dorks (people on the news posts) a piece of my mind.

sorry to come accross as Mean but its the truth..
how many people cried over this news....?......exactally.
like I said before
Natural selection....weather it be the parents of the child at fault..
if a 2 yr. old just died naturally..(what does that mean anyway....almost anything can be considered natural..i.e. naturally you would die if you were to jump off a cliff..see..)
anyway..we would have seen such a big deal being made.
anyway I apologize again. to you guys at CS.com.I dont want to sound like a mean person..But I side with the snake....

I know it's frustrating that this case has the potential to affect who can own what, but to say "I do not care about the little girl that was killed." is a bit cruel. Children are curious, so are snakes, and it is entirely up to the owner who has both to keep them safe. This was a real person, and whether their death directly affects us, or not, it's still sad. Something like this could have happened to anyone of us on the CS forums with a snake that big, and though the girls parents may not have been as educated as they should have been, it's still terrible. I know a lot of us on this site think we take every precaution in the book to protect themselves and their family from an incident like this, but when your dealing with a Burmese Python, or any large snake for that matter, you just never know!.I kinda feel liek a butt saying this but:

Glad I am not on that board...
"that's the kind of thing that happens when you a WTP in the home. what is a WTP? thanks for asking... that's a white trash pet.. very very few physicians, dentists, stockbrokers, pharmacists, lawyers, surgeons, engineers, computer analysts, college professors, and other degreed professionals have a WTP. it's always some
mullet with a rusted out camaro/firebird/trans am in a trailer park."
Can you believe the dog pooh that is being said about snake owners/breeders? Wow oh wow!!
Hey, I used to be a college professor and I have two degrees. Does that mean I can't have my snakes anymore? I don't want to live in a trailer park with you guys. I don’t have enough hair to grow a mullet, although I’ve got a great start on a beer belly. You should see me in a wife beater T shirt.
I have to say I am somewhat with Amanda on this one. It's sad that a kid lost her life... but I am more angry with the incompetent snake keeper that allowed this to happen, and the impact that this and other stories like it will have on my ability to keep a burm or retic in the future. It's stories like this that will preclude other people judging MY ability and right to keep a big constrictor based on the actions of a few incompetent individuals. It's not fair, it's not just, and it pisses me off.
It bring up the old debate about permit systems. Are they worthwhile? I thought Florida had one, and to be honest I am not certain what the system entails. Does it entail a home inspection whereby someone checks the accomodations that a person has for a large, dangerous snake? Was this person subject to the permit system or grand-fathered in?
Are sure the parents didn't kill her and blame the snake? A little suspicious to me:nope:
Like most people on this forum, I have a lot of snakes. Mine are in my home. As careful as I may be, one gets out from time to time. We always find them and it’s no big deal. But then, I don’t have any snakes that might do harm to myself or my family. Wouldn’t you think that if you had a snake that could kill someone in your home you would go to incredible lengths to prevent escape? I just can’t come to terms with that. I can’t imagine being the neglectful.
Can a snake that size kill a 2 year old? THere is no way it could eat a 2 year old.. WOuld it kill something it cannot eat? Something is just off..
