Business Name?

Destarte

Corn Addict.
So... I eventually want to get into breeding. I'm taking my time to make sure I do it properly. A lot of research is going into this. But, I'm having the hardest time coming up with a company name! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! There are a few things that I can say to help spring board into the right direction.

Family Business - Jeff and Ronnie Green
May expand to other reptiles/aquatics - Focusing on Corns/Pied Balls/Colombian Redtails
We're from the South - Mississippi to be exact
We live in Indiana - Indianapolis

That's pretty much all I have... Any thoughts?

My brand name, Shyview, is just one of those things that popped into my head. Same with my very first email address, which has long since been deactivated. It was howlingwoodfire. I'd say, just sit on it for a while; it will come to you. When a suggestion comes to mind, roll it around on your tongue a bit. How's it taste? I know that sounds funny, but I basically mean how does it feel to be associated with the name you think of? Does it give you a proud feeling or something you would be comfortable saying/writing/reading/etc for many years?

Sorry I can't be more help, but to me naming a business is like naming a child. You can ask advice, but when it gets down to it, you have to decide if you want to name your child Rose or Ginger or Shawnda.

Well, people tend to think of reptiles as green in color first, other colors last. So perhaps "Green Reptiles"? Pretty basic, but it conjures images of children's drawings/cartoons of snakes, lizards, etc. Theoretically, that would therefore evoke a fun, family-friendly, and educational image when people hear the name. *shrug* Just thought I'd throw it out there.

I would play up Indian Corn Herps or Reptiles since you are located in indiana and will be breeding corns among other reptiles. Maybe "Indian A Corns"

I hope to hobby breed corns in the future possibly.

When I use to breed rats, I was INSpeedboatrattery..IN=Indiana, Speedboat= Our line of rats, Rattery= It was a rattery. I plan to do something similar for the corns.. INcorns, INcornsnakes...etc.

I'd do something meaningful to you. I have lived in Indiana my whole life and that's where I am located. That's why I choose to use IN or Indiana.

When I think of the color green I think more of frogs and lizards not so much snakes. :shrugs: But I would definitely follow pridecity's advise. I kept going round and round with names. I kept trying to incorporate my last name because my husband and I are a team. Yeah :p My husband deals with the snakes when one of them get to nasty, he unwind the girls from their eggs when we take the eggs away, he watches eggs pip to play with babies and he repeatedly asks "What would WE get if we bred so and so to so and so?" That is literally all of his jobs so he is busy a couple days out of the year. So I repeatedly said the names that I had thought of but non of them sounded right to me till I said Christen's Corns. It rolls off the tongue and easy to remember.

I picked mine ("Mystic Exotics") because at one point, I considered future ferret breeding as well, so I didn't want to narrow down to a reptile or snake theme, (hence "exotics") & "Mystic", is after my baby girl, Mystic (RIP) who was my first private bred ferret (from GFX), & she will always be special to me.

It sounds like you'll have plenty of time to think on it unless you're getting some breeder adults. I like the Indian A Corns! I have enough trouble naming my snakes, let a lone a business! My parakeet is Yellow b/c she is yellow, that's how lame I am.

I think I'll name a new snake Taylor b/c I love Taylor Swift ;) Adele could be another one.

I can't remember why I picked my name, on a whim I guess. I actually had another name in mind, but when I started getting it ready I was looking into getting the website up and someone had that website taken (though there was no actual website up, just a placeholder). I got in touch with who owned the domain name (a known snake breeder) and he said he was thinking about switching his business name to that (and now that I look it up, it looks like they have switched over to using that name now). So I'd say just do a quick background check (google search/domain name search/etc...) to make sure whatever name you choose isn't already in use by someone else.

I really like geographic names, based on features where you might live. But I don't plan on remaining where I live now for the rest of my life so I didn't do a geographic name.

Spirit Serpents is the name I've chosen, as I really like the combinations of the various aneries and hypos.

Laying here, trying to fall asleep and I start thinking about this again. What about G.R.E.E.N. Green's Reptiles, Exotics and Everything Needed. Lol. Just an idea... I'm sure something will come around and stand out.
