Butter issue thread

I miss those days of drinking and forgetting my way home!
At least these days when I drink I'm strictly a pedestrian.

Oh, I got a new pocket digital camera Tuesday, and had it handy when Butter had the BIG Drink the other day, so I snapped a couple quick pics.

Real Progress, IMO

:dancer: now I've got REAL progress to report. Butter ate his second meal in a row tonight. Before I put him in the feeding bin I weighed Butter. 407g!! EIGHT days ago, Butter was 370g. Since then, he's eaten 1 mouse and had 2 loooong drinking sessions. As long as I had the scale out, I weighed tonight's dinner, which was 32g.

When I introduced the mouse to the feeding bin, Butter made a bee line for the mouse and didn't hesitate a moment. I didn't want to bother him at the dinner table and all, but I did take a quick pic for posterity:

With every passing event, his odds of success grow. Thanks for putting up with this thread.

Oh, yeah... Happy New Year!

Good to see him doing so well Bruce!

Keep the progress reports coming, I want to see a happy ending!

Best wishes and a Happy New Year to you and Butter,

Very quick update:

Two nights ago during his regular soaking, he had an enormous (at least to someone used to dealing with babies) poop. A good amount of white urates, and 3 dark grape-sized fecal 'blobs'. One was shrivilled up like a raisin, which probably goes back to his dehydration period. The other two were plump and moist looking (yes, they were under water, so of course they were moist, but you know what I mean!).

This morning, he had his 3d meal in a row. The mouse was 26g and Butter weighted 440g prior to feeding.

His vet follow-up appt is next tuesday. Hopefully, following that appointment, I'll close out this thread.

Thanks for all the encouragement and following along! Hope no one else has to do all this!

Bravo my friend for never losing faith in poor Butter and in your ability to help him pull through, despite the neglagence of other humans.

I am sure in the months to come he will be a credit to yourself, your sons best friend and his most prized "posession". Good luck to you all.

Merlinpop mate- there aren't rep point to show my appreciation for your dedication and care.
Well done, you deserve every ounce of pride and credit for this endeavor.

Thanks, guys. Despite everything I've poked him with, squirted down his throught or locked him up into tubs of water, he's always been sweet and docile. He deserves to prosper. I'm just happy I was able to help him.

so much for my Resolution... "Throat" not "throught". Hmmmph. I be edumacated, dats rite!

Funny what the mind "sees". When I read the original post, I read it as "throat".

Way to go Bruce. You have given so many people a great amount of invaluable experience.
