So far, we've only fed our little guy pinkies, but he's about ready to move up. I'd like to go with peach fuzzies next, but I think 100 from RodentPro is a bit much. Any place I can buy like 20?
southfloridarodents.com (I think that's the link) does bags of 50 & I think you are in an area with good shipping prices. I think though, that almost all of the online feeder places only sell 50 pinkies at a time, they sell some of the bigger mice in lots of 20 but not pinks. You might try to find a reptile show around your area, I've heard you can get bags of pinks, 30 for $9.00 at some of the shows. Hope that helps some!
The Mouse Factory sells large pinks in 50's, and fuzzies and hoppers in 25's, and weanlings in 50's. To save on shipping you could order one of each, (I might skip the large pink and hope the fuzzies had some peach fuzzies in it) and they will be vacuum sealed so will last for quite a long time.
Yep, shipping is gonna get ya. I do not know what you are paying for your rodents but here are a few ideas of what I went through. 1/4 tank of gas $15-20 bucks(big truck). 1.50 for a mouse(once a week). With my collection it kills me with 16 mouths to feed. You can try to find a local reptile club, sometimes member will go in an bulk order, or one of the members raise mice. You can always try to raise them yourself. It cost a little in intial set up but once the colony/ies get going you can choose the perfect size to feed your snake and cull and freeze ect... (Make sure you can stomach putting babies down/feeding them off.) Just a few ideas. Oh and ask your local pet shop if they would order frozen bulk. They might be able to get them a touch cheaper pending on where they get there mice from.
