That can happen in tessera without being diffused as well. I'm not seeing any removal of the lateral patterning.

Thanks for posting these here, Aleks! Like I said I really had no idea, it could have went either Pewter or Charcoal Tessera het. Blood. I've been meaning to get more pics and even some comparison pics but I've just been sooooooo busy!

But I did manage to snap some today of the other Charcoal Tessera. Do you mind if I put up it's sibling pics in this thread? I have another one who I need ID confirmation on, as well but again, just haven't got around to it, lol.

Are there any known homo diffused tesseras who don't have the really broken stripe? Having seen several, now, that we know are bloodred, makes me think this one is not homo diffused. Can't wait for a breeding trial!!

Nancy I had a clutch of tess blood last year and yes they are ALL broken badly! making them unique! this dude is charcoal het blood. It was harder to tell as a baby! now I have no question about it! he should be ready for next season! crossing fingers

Ya this one Aleks posted is not supposed to be homo diffused.

However, I've been calling this one a Pewter Tessera, based on comparisons to it's Charcoal Tessera sibs, which I foolishly didn't really take that many photos of. I have some group shots, but they're all in shed and balled up like wild garter snakes. I am starting to think this one isn't the triple. It weights 12 grams currently.

I think this one is just the Charcoal Tessera het. Diffused/Blood (or whatever you call it :p) BUT, it's head pattern is SO exact to my Pewter Tessera male. But his stripe is very broken.

The definite Pewter Tessera is lightyears ahead of this one in growth so it's hard to say what the lateral parts of this snake are going to look like in the future.

Here's the Pewter Tess: sorry for the bad pic. Cell phone camera, and he's in shed and doesn't really like to hold still. This one weighs about 70 grams currently.

Digging this up yet again.........

The snake in these attachments has to be a Bloodred Tessera. There is NO WAY this is just a "regular" Tessera.

Anyways, I sure hope it is, because that's what I sold it as. I might owe someone $, or another snake :p

And here is a crop of a clutch photo, showing the difference between the Bloodred Tessera w/ near perfect stripe, and the regular Tessera.

So I think there can be Bloodred/Diffused Tesseras with perfect stripe, but I think it leans a lot toward broken stripes with Blood/Diffused involved.
