Cinder babies update

Since I spent the morning feeding and setting up my first 2 clutches in individual containers, I took a couple of update pics of the cinders. The first 2 are from Zpade's clutch, and the rest are Zelda's kids. Almost all of these babies have shed now with a couple exceptions, the good news is they all ate today - even the ones that haven't shed yet! I am psyched they are good eaters.

Very nice! I started off not sure I liked cinders but the more I see of them the more I like them.

OMG, love the head pattern on the 2nd one!!! And how light the 2nd to last one is. And how dark the 3rd to the last . . . . ~LOL~ Have you popped them yet? Sooooo, picked your keepers, yet? ~grins~

Are you going to the Reptile Expo in Aug again?

Naw, I am waiting until they eat a couple of times & are a bit more established before I pop them. And I want to see what comes out of clutches 3 and 4 before I pick keepers- I wish you could tell with cinders which ones are gonna come out the burgundiest.
Want a male or a female?
I'm going to the expo but maybe not as a vendor. Been deliberating, other than the cinders I have a bunch of normals and hypos that I'm probably better off wholesaling.

Congrats! They are very pretty. It's neat how cinders differ. They are very different in color than Friday the genderless wonder.

I know. I love the cinders with the deep burgundy colors; that is what I want, also. I think yours will have good color. I have seen other cinder babies that were really gray, with practically no brown at all. That's the only problem with having het cinder parents. You don't know until the first clutch which version of cinder you will end up with!

That's right, you still have 2 more clutches that might have cinders! Very cool.

Male. I have 2 female/1 male Miami het cinders, so I want a 2nd unrelated male to go along with them. I am also thinking of breeding a cinder to my female plasma at some point. I am interested to see if the burgundy will enhance the purple at all.

Ah, I see. Did you really scale back on your breeding this year, or did you have problems? It seems like it has been a funky breeding year - lots of slugs, snakes not interested, unsuccessful breedings, injuries. Are you joining the group for lunch?

A little of both, I had a clutch of all slugs from a butter mot... A male I had just gotten from serpenco closeout sale (proven breeder caramel stripe het amel) died without ever breeding the amel stripe het caramel female I had bought him for, and I decided to give my ghost breeders a break this year.

On the upside my hondo is laying her eggs right now, looks like 2 slugs and one good egg with one egg left to go. Wow talk about huge eggs.

Yes, If I'm not vending I would like to join the group for lunch :) But otherwise I will have to get you guys to bring me a doggie bag ;)

So sorry to hear about the male! That is too bad, what a perfect match for your female. Hopefully you can find another for her at some point. I have a male anery hurricane mot het amel caramel, but no stripe in him (that I know of). I plan on pairing him (next year if he is big enough) with that gorgeous female amel mot het caramel I got from you last year.

Do hondos only lay ~4 eggs on average? Crazy. I am used to the huge clutches of the corns ~LOL~ That is very cool. I like the look of milksnakes.

Sounds good. If you are vending, I'll bring you something :)
