Good God.... Thanks for reminding me why I'm getting off of here. Thanks everyone for being so nice to your fellow members...

Look Emily. I have a reputation for getting into it with people but I am also very smart. i believe a member compared me to Dr. House once. I am very smart, but somtimes I come across very rude and sometimes I try to be rude to get a point across. Who was it that said that. The point is like Chris said we are hardcore passionate about what we believe. I believe all animals are entitiles to rights of some kind. You may not be the point is we will disagree we will agree. But in the end we all are a big online family.

I would never call you smarter than dr. house. Usually there is no intelligence or underlayed comedy in your posts, just plain and pure RUDENESS.

Oh, I don't want to treat my cat's easily treated condition because he's OLD."
"Oh, I just want him to die peacefully at home"- Cat with oral cancer eating away his mandible and going up into his eye.
"She's getting my couch dirty and I want to euthanise her"- cat was obese and owner wouldn't put on a diet.
"Yeah, he's gotten kinda skinny but he's old." -- George. Go look at the thread and the pictures I posted.

People not caring about the suffering their animals are going through, or wanting to kill them for spurious reasons is absolutely anathema to my calling. It enrages me because any living thing deserves respect. My snakes are here for my pleasure, yes. But I have a responsibility to them. There's an old saying that you can judge how a society treats its people by how it treats its animals.

There is a very big difference between a beloved pet and a property destroying deer. I am not saying your stance about PETS is wrong, but c'mon, do you HONESTLY think that a property destroying deer or animal in general is at the same level as a household pet?

When you kill the animals who are destroying your property, do you at least *try* for clean kills rather than wounding them so they run off and slowly either bleed to death or die from septicemia?

If you at least try, then you are showing them some degree of respect. I am fortunate to live in an area not inhabited by dear, but that IS inhabited by raccoons and skunks. I tend to try to avoid them when possible because they are not directly a nuisance to me. Away from people, in their proper habitats, they are useful creatures. So I have no problem with you protecting your property so long as you aren't taking belly shots so the animal takes days and days to die.

Ah robbie, you know I love threads like this so I can post Panda pictures. ;)

No one is smarter than house. My posts are often laden with sarcasim. I try not to be like him but sometimes in emotional threads I get that way.

Ok - this is the third time I have posted on this subject matter - twice in the other thread and now this one.
I noticed you never replied to my other two posts - ??? I told you a way that you could make this stop and yet you continue to ignore my advice and just keep baiting everyone else who is "attacking" you.

One more time - you are entitled to your opinion, everyone is. But on a forum mostly full of animal lovers, maybe if you would STOP SLAPPING US IN THE FACE WITH TALK OF HOW YOU DO NOT CARE HOW ANIMALS FEEL then everyone would leave it alone.
Instead, you keep taunting people by talking about shooting turtles, blowing up frogs, stepping on mice etc...now maybe some of that was meant in jest, but your opinion has been duly noted by everyone - you DO NOT have to keep rehashing it. So they don't agree with you -so what? Just drop it and move on. Yes, others should drop it as well and quit bashing - but maybe if you stopped throwing it in everyones face they would stop also.

This is obviously not the place to share that particular opinion. Sometimes you have to be the bigger person and be willing to step away from the confrontation. Yes, members of this forum are passionate about what they believe in and most of the time we seem to have the same beliefs where animals and animal rights/welfare are concerned. Obviously you struck a big nerve with the crowd here. And no, people are not right for attacking you directly over it, but that still doesn't excuse continuing to douse the fire with gasoline with some of your statements.

To everyone else involved in this dispute - I think we all need to stop now. This is getting ridiculous. We are not going to change her mind and she isn't going to change ours. But that is our right - we are ALL entitled to our opinion and on this matter we are just going to have to agree to disagree. I would highly suggest that as long as Emily does not post any more blatant stories of killing animals etc then we should all just let it go and move on.

Robbie - can it be Panda time now??

well of course you get a clean shot! i have pretty good gun (s), so my aim is pretty good. why would you NOT want a clean kill? if you just wound it, its just going to run off and you won't get your trophy. i TRY for a clean kill whenever hunting. But in any case, you can never guarantee that. anyone who has ever hunted can tell you that..
