Corn snake trying to eat my arms.

I have an underfed corn snake. I would say she's about 3 feet. Her spine is visible. She had an adult mouse a couple of days ago that left a nice lump, but I understand she's probably still hungry. She also isn't used to being held.

She tries to eat my hands and arms. Like she'll try to clamp down on my forearms. It's obvious she isn't going to be able to swallow that. I have dodged most of them, mostly because she just opens her mouth and moves forward.

Should I let her bite me? And what's the cause of this? I assume it's because she is hungry but it might be the cause of another behavior, like me not handling her properly or something.

I'm not sure I haven't heard of this before, I'm interested to see the info people give. Hopefully everything is alright, wishing for the best!

I would start feeding her rat pups instead of adult mice every 5-7 days until she gets back up to weight.
For the chewing issue, I have a large adult male that chews on me every time I take him out. That's just how he is. Some snakes just like to nibble!

Nutritional or size difference?

The rat pups are a bit fattier, so help with weight gain in situations like this. I always give my breeder females rat pups for a couple weeks after they lay to help recuperate.

Yep, some snakes are just more nippy than others. I have two that eat regularly, are nowhere near starving, but always chew on my fingers and arms. I just let them do it; once they realise "hey, he isn't food," they let go and don't bite again for that session.

and just so ya know the 'proper' way to hold your snake would be to make sure that you use 2 hands support all of the snakes body. lol corns are not purley arboreal so being supported properly really makes a difference for them. :)

Snake numbers

What do the numbers mean that people put in front of the snakes they own such as 1.1,1.0.6.9.3
