cornelius has a swollen abdomen

I am a new member and am in a picle. My approximately 2 year old cornsnake has a destended/swollen area that is 1/3 of his length on his tail end. The swelling stops at his vent and his tail is the normal size. He just defecated and it really smells, which is not normal for him. He has been less active recently and has lost weight. He is drinking water (alot 2x per day). There are several other factors that need to be mentioned which may or may not be related:
1. I just drove cross country with him in a small cage and he appeared to fair the trip well until we got to New Orleans, where he got chilled (I do not know if that is related) .
2. He ate yesterday (force fed him 3 pinkys) and his abdomen was not swollen.
3. He has not been dropped.
4. He is in a new used cage (which I bleached and then washed very well to remove the bleach).
5. He is on grass from Petsmart that is the same brand I always use.
6. The water is harder in Panama City than in Seattle.

Please respond. He looks bad.

Why did you force feed him? Has he not been eating? At two, he could probably go for a few weeks without food (isn't it matting season too? Some corns tend to go off feed around that time). Has he had access to warm temps to digest since you did that?

And you should probably take him to a vet, if you can. It's hard to find to reptile savvy vets, but the poor little guy sounds like he's in rough shape. At the very least, I'd advise you don't force feed him again until you have this sorted (talking to a professional about your problem and figuring out what to do). Pictures would help too, but I doubt the internet is going to help you with this.

This MAY be a possible egg-binding. Your snakes needs to see a vet ASAP.

Given that his belly only swelled up after you force-fed him yesterday, and coupled with an unusually stinky poop since, I'd lay odds that the pinkies were off.

However, that's just a guess. I'd recommend a vet in this instance as well. Although I think your best bet is to hope for a regurge.
