Couple Snakes

It doesn't matter if you are a moderator or not. I am trying not to piss anyone off.

I'm not pissed. Elle isn't pissed. Moderators and Rich don't seem to be pissed. I would say it's a fair bet that far, you haven't pissed anyone off. It wasn't personally directed towards you. I merely addressed the "insults" like 3 or 4 other people did with my own opinion of them.

Nothing personal, David.

It's fine, I don't want to upset people thats all, I am trying to avoid that. I guess I just want to keep any disagreements to a bare minimum.

LOL.... WOW!!!!
Can we get this thread back to Chris's photos please ????

Thank you ;)

Once again, great photos Chris.. I hope you find a few new lifers this year to use your new lens on :) And you are always welcome to come cruise with us cruisers out here.. :)

Well...I do still need to find a mitchelli...

The herp club and I are working on putting together a guidebook for the Owens Valey this year. This lens(and the flash and bracket set I also got) should help bring my snake shots up to par...

Thanks, Steph. And thanks to everyone else that actually commented on the photos, and tried to keep the topic on track.

I don't know how I missed this....that new lens is going to be awesome for you Chris judging by these first examples! I keep saying I want to get the same type of lens as well - after seeing what Elle has posted using it. And now with your shots, I may just have to use part of my tax return this year....hmmmmm....

Yup...Tax Season is my favorite time of year...

This is an incredible lens for portrait work, too. You can get really nice, tight face and head shots without crowding your subject and making them uncomfortable...

All three of these are processed, but not cropped. The framing is exactly as it was from the camera frame. The processing was limited to curves and contrast.

Another benefit for me since I seem to get sucked in to do a lot of weddings!
I am really looking forward to your roadcruising pics this year!

Those really are great photos Chris. I especially like the portraits you posted this morning.

I would like to point out that I asked a question about what was in one of the photos and David and Elle answered it. The only comments that were completely off topic were yours.

This lens would kill for wedding photos. All those cute little kids and shy teenagers running around all dressed up...

Sigma makes a 30mm f/1.6 macro that I'm looking to pick up too. THAT puppy would be on my camera all the time just walking around town...

Wade-
This will be the first and last polite response I have for you in this or any other topic.

Your insults and banter with David were not on topic.

I saw your question. I ignored it.

I have nothing more to say to you.

Off topic kind of.

Chris, What is the substrate in the first picture with the Alterna?

My post was a polite question to you about one of your pictures, which you chose to ignore.

As for the "friendly insults"...I don't see the point. Name calling is name calling. When I signed up to be a member here, it was against the rules to call another member of this forum a derogatory name.

That's not really the point. Obviously it was a joke. However, it can easily turn bad, as you saw once you tried to involve Elle. People don't always read things the way they are intended, especially on this forum. There are even people that like to twist things around and take things the wrong way and out of context intentionally, just to be a git...

That's why the rules are what they are. The rules say "No name calling". The rules don't say "No name calling unless you are joking around"...

But what do I care? Do what you want. It ain't my forum...

That was when you gave us the lecture on how bad name calling is and even if you are joking how people can be offended by it and you shouldn't do bad bad things like that.

Please note that no words have been twisted here. These are your words straight from page one.

All I wanted was a simple answer to my polite question about your first photo.

But the sometimes it's hard to know where you stand. For example:

I hate the idea of other people trying to tell me which words I can and cannot use. I hate the idea of people telling me which groups of people are OK to offend and which are not. I hate the idea of people getting so bent out of shape about words.

Is it wrong to call your buddy, who is in no way mentally disabled, but is really quite clumsy and doesn't pay attention, "retarded"?

Well...therein lies the debate, doesn't it? Everyone's opinion will vary on this aspect, and each person will need to learn how to respect everyone else's opinion.
:shrugs:

That all makes sense Wade and I see your point BUT this is not the time or thread to do that.

This doesn't help David.

Wade is welcome to type anything he wants in any topic that suits his fancy so long as he doesn't break any of the rules. This is not my forum, and I cannot control what, when, how or where he types his words. I can only ignore them.

Just trying to keep us on topic bro! Anyway!!!!!!!! I really like the GBKs. Like I said I had the chance to get one but it was not an established feeder so I said heck with it!
