Creamsicle or?

Hey guys. In one day I have gone from no snakes to 3. The following photo is a impulse buy snake I got today. I assume she is a creamsicle but the parents are unknown if its a hybrid. Any ideas on what else it could be? She has belly pattern and albino eyes.

"I assume she is a creamsicle but the parents are unknown if its a hybrid"

Why would you assume that?

I assume she's a creamsicle by her looks, can't confirm if she's hybrid because I don't know what the parents were. That's what I meant to say. I don't know of many other orange morphs like this aside from mandarins which are not common as I understand

She could be a cream, she also could just be an amel (altho she looks like what I'd expect to see when I see baby creams). Better question would be what did you buy/get her as?

I got her from the 'bad place'. Of course the kid working didn't know anything. She is probably just an camel if they can be this orange/peachy. There were 2 more normal amels with her.

Lol at "bad place". Not every Petco or PetSmart is bad, we (those that breed corns) just wish y'all would buy from us instead ;)

If you bought it as an amel you can assume it is what it is, but unless you bought it from someone who knows what it is, assuming is the best you can do :)

I agree. It's turning into a pet peeve of mine when snakes are labeled as hybrids just on someone's feelings. Why would that snake not be a billion times more common amel cornsnake??

I agree, I think if labeled as an Amel, assume as such. I am attaching a pic of my Amel and my creamsicle :)

Amels are probably the most variable of corn morphs too. You could walk into a room full of corn hobbyists with it and confidently say "This is an amel corn" as easily as you could say "This is a creamsicle". Also ChannyB's creamsicle would be a poor one to use as comparison simply because it has been linebred to refine it's appearance, altho hers does have that "buttery-orange" coloration that alot of creamsicles have. :)

Well you just taught me something new too chris68 lol How can you tell he was linebred to refine appearance? Not arguing at all I am curious!!

Channy because he looks linebred...and you have him listed in your sig line as a "creamsicle reverse Okeetee" ;). I know there are a couple breeders that breed creamsicles to resemble reverse okeetees, linebreeding the nicest ones they hatch out to refine the look :*)

Oh ok yes this makes sense :)

I actually increased my number of corns from zero to three today. 2 were from a legit breeder but while in Petco buying terrarium supplies for the 2 which came in the mail today I saw her. She was labeled simply as a corn snake at the regular (non-fancy) price. I like the hell out of her whatever she is.

Is there any definitive way to tell if she is amel vs cream without DNA testing of some sort?

If you dont know for sure if it is
cremesicle or not
will you not be breeding it then?

No, with her unknown lineage she will be just a much loved member of the family. If she is a cream her breedability kind of ends anyway. I'm just in the hobby phase, breeding may come later with animals I have solid info on

I have the same issue with a female I'm not sure if she's a creamsicle or not. I just know she is very orange without any actual reds. I bred her this year just to see, but I won't be breeding her again since I don't know her lineage. She's actually a baby to one I bred 3 years ago that looks just like her. On the bright side, for a first timer, she had a big clutch of 15 and hasn't lost a lot of weight.
