But what do you mean dining area, The colors around the area or the table style and type of wood with matching stain. And if you have "fish" tanks and want to put them on top of each other like racks, you might consider new custom vivs. And save the tanks for the other snakes.

I've been sitting here researching the back threads & see nothing I really like except home-made ones. So I guess I will hire someone!
But yeah I have glass tanks, but not sure what I need to go up to on a 20 gallon for Dani who is 80g's already! YIKES!!
I want it to match the area, black would be fine. There is just a piano in that area right now. No table.
Custom vivs hmmmmmmm those tanks (the ones I have now) are hard to clean & heavy & they are only 10 gal reptile tanks. UGHHHHHHHHH

You may want to build something that actually IS the cage. Building a rack for glass tanks just seems making more work for yourself. The tanks are Heavy, so how will you access the snakes? What if one of the tanks falls? You've already mentioned they're heavy. I used to have a little shelf that was perfect for fitting two 20 gal longs on it. It was really hard to access the snakes though due to how heavy the tanks were. I had to slide one out a bit, then open the top, then reach into the small opening. Can you guess that I found myself getting lazy and not wanting to do many cleanings? >.>
If you want the nice glass my suggestion is to make a rack of cages that have sliding glass or Plexiglases doors. Here's an example of what I'm talking about.

This is a two unit rack, shared with us by Matthew. I think this looks GREAT. I'm sure it would make a handsome addition to your kitchen. Also, you could build it larger than just the two units, making it the size you need to fit your needs. Good luck!
I often wish I had something like this that looked really nice. The rack I have with tubs fits me well even though it's not the most aesthetically pleasing thing in the world. Unfortunately some of my friends coming over to visit think I'm very weird until I've explained what the rack is. One of my friends admitted the first time she came over she thought I was "obsessed with Tupperware". :smash:

Vikki, it sounds to me like you want some sort of shelving unit to hold the cages you have now, correct? I like Nanci's idea of using a book case, or you could build shelves. Maybe IKEA would have something cheap that either matched what you have now or was easy to paint so it matched.
The only thing I worry about is getting in and out of the cages. I imagine that the next shelf will be relatively close to the top of the cage, which could be a problem for accessing the cage. You'd have to remove the cage to do so, or have some sort of sliding mechanism...
