I know that I haven't been on here very much recently... sticking to the Football threads for the most part... I do plan on getting back into the swing of things and spending time online with ya'll. :)

I just wanted to ask that those of you who would, keep my extended family close to your hearts for the next week or so. The Patriarch of our family - my Grandfather - passed away today. He was 96 years old and lived a long and fruitful life, but that doesn't make his passing any easier on all of us.

Getting to and from El Paso will also be a stretch... whether or not I bring my entire family or find a ride over there with another relative is all up in the air. Things are tight for everyone... So some relatives might not be able to make it. Keep them in your thoughts as well.

It'll be a tough couple of weeks, with the thoughts, prayers and well wishes of you all and our other friends, our family will get through to the other side.

Thanks for reading and "listening". As always, I appreciate this community.

I am glad he was with your family so long, but that long and loving relationship probably makes the loss even more difficult to bear. My thoughts are with you!

I am so sorry Fred losing a grandparent is tough. You and your family will definitely be in my thoughts.
 
I'm so sorry, Fred. I've been missing you. I hope as many as want to go to the funeral are able to. For a couple of my grandparents, I just didn't have the heart for it, and that's okay, too. It's nice to be with the rest of the family at this time, though.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My grandfather actualy just passed away this august. He died from lung cancer. It was very hard for my whole family, but at least he is not suffering and he is with my grandmother now in a better place.

My thoughts are with you Fred. It's good to know he lived a long and fruitful life. Remember those great times when you get together with your family!
