Dilute morph?

Anime Youkai

Proud corn snake owner
Hey there everyone.

I was browsing on another website and they mentioned a morph called "dilute." Here is what the person wrote about them:

Dilute Anery Motley. This is the little Dilute female, and she has some great color to her. The Dilute gene is fairly new and produces a type of color wash that effects the other morphs natural color. This is a Dilute Anery, (grey), that actually gives the snake a blue tint. These are the first snakes to actually get as close to a blue Corn Snake as possible, in fact in some circles they are called Blue Motleys.

I have never heard of "blueish" looking corns before. Is this a real morph? They also have an image posted along with it, but it looks photoshoped to be more saturated in color (to make it appear to look blue).

Hey thanks for checking out my DA page :wavey: and no it wasn't photoshopped. You can check out the male in the same gallery.... :grin01:

oh okay. I'm glad it is a real morph. The pics were really cool... :)
Thanks. That female had problems, and has been replaced by another, even better looking one. I'll post pics when I get a chance, but the true test will be the outside shots, which really captures their "real" color photographically. (Indoors, the camera doesn't pick up the tint very well, but still good enough to tell the difference from a regular Anery.)

Here are some pics from BassieMK1;

Hey, I have a DA too!

I've never heard of a dilute, before... But blue is my favorite color, and if it's a 'blue' morph, I'll do my best to get it into my claws *ahem* hands.

Woah, that is a really cool little girl! It's too bad the first one had problems (feeding issues?). That is a really cool morph. Do they get more blue as they grow up?

That ones not mine, I haven't had the chance to get her outside yet, but you'll see her first on DA if you friended me, lol. :grin01: I've only seen a few adults, (some in the above links), but like most morphs, they all look a little different... :shrugs:

Most of my dilute anery motley hatchlings have the pink undertones that will definately affect how blue they are as adults. Only the female from last year stayed totally blue with no pink until she died at about 10 months of age. It may be the same as with regular anerys...family lines, etc as to how pink it'll be. Both of my lines carrying the dilute gene have loads of pinks and oranges.

Wow, pretty! I think that it is cool how some of the morphs have these different colors that are not "natural" looking. That is sad about the one female dying... =(

My dilute anery, sibling to Bassie's.... I strongly suspect him to be hypo too.... he is soo much lighter then the other ones I've seen. He even is more pink right now, and yellow is coming in on the sides of his neck.
