Attacks on freedom to fish, to hunt, or to keep exotic pets - it is all part of the same plan by the animal rights groups. Unfortunately, "divide and conquer" seems to be working for them. The fishermen, hunters, and pet keepers can't seem to get together to support each other to fight a common enemy. Here is some info on what anglers are facing, since most of us focus only on our own narrow interest group (I am also guilty of that).

Kathy those people scare me to death. There are more fishermen than snake owners. I would be a good group to be associated with. They are somewhat organized too.
 
But if hunters & fishers can see our POV, we become a bigger bloc to influence policy. USARK needs to reach out to groups involves with sports fishing & hunting. Maybe Ducks Unlimited? They are a open spaces + hunting organization that does good work from what I can tell.

Anybody know any contacts IN USARK? I will contact USARK if I have a name & email or something!

Some feel as though the Obama administration is pushing through a socialist agenda.
There IS a difference between communism and socialism.

And this really does scare me. ALOT.

The more time goes by, the less scary Palin as VP appears to me......
 
Really? I guess someone actually did pay attention to PETA's "Sea Kitten" campaign a while back. This is absolutely ridiculous. How many businesses would go under because of this? How many people would be put out of work?
 
Well, guess I'll be the loner who despises both our current President and our former. Mr. Bush wasn't a saint either.

How many businesses would go under because of this? How many people would be put out of work?

Whether it is python breeders, fishermen, or the rodent breeders, boat builders, hotels, restaurants, etc, that depend partly upon them, it doesn't seem to matter as long as the agenda is upheld. Although the "environmental movement gone mad" is causing a lot of loss of jobs, job loss from over regulation is happening in many unrelated areas, too. I have friends who work in fire protection equipment, retail sales of items for kids, and many other diverse areas telling me that lots of mom and pop shops are being run out of business because it is too expensive to comply with constantly changing, and increasingly expensive, regulations.

As long as voters blindly vote for politicians who promise safety (or some other idealistic, but impossible goal) at any cost, in every area of our lives, it will only get worse until we sink the economy, I am afraid.
 
I'm am hoping we will finally have some thinking voters in the coming elections. It is time to lose both the Dems and Repubs and vote for the man with a brain.
 
The only party that cares about smaller government,

and protecting ALL freedoms that don't infringe upon the rights of others, is the Libertarian party. I don't know of any other organization that would want to protect the rights of such diverse groups as exotic pet owners, gun owners, gays, and anyone else who is persecuted "just because". The Republicrats are two sides of the same coin, as far as I am concerned. They want to control your life and finances in somewhat different ways, but they all still want control, one way or another. I am disgusted with all of them.
 
I happen to be registered republican, but I am sick and tired of both the republican and democrat parties... Its about time both were absolved and new parties came to power.
 
Doesn't really matter. USARK really should look into joining forces with some of the hunting and fishing organizations. We are all on the same sinking tuna boat. We have a common foe. And we are all sick and tire of politicians.
 
Does matter if it isn't true. I'm on board if it is. I like fishing. I also like that we have fish TO fish. If a species is in danger of being fished out we should try and protect them no? I don't think that's too partisan.
 
Well yes of course that matters, I meant that we should join forces with other groups regardless of the story. If we are depleting the ocean then we should worry about that too. And the whales and the planet. Do you know how much junk is floating around in space because of man. Yeah that's right space junk. And it's our fault. Think about that!!
