Emergency! Pinched in his tub. :(

Wow..I am glad he doing so well also, but part of this thread brought a question to mind when giving antibiotics could one not load their F/t with the medicine befor feeding, and avoid the force feeding? I am new to snakes and ask for future reference should it ever be needed.

That's a great question, I'd love to know the answer to this myself.

Important update with photos.

I walked in on Charlie beginning to shed about a half hour ago. He's always fine to do it on his own until he gets to his large scab, so I just hop in to help him get past that part.

Well halfway through working around the scab it started to come off. So I just let him do his thing and he ended up letting the entire thing peel away with the rest of his shed.

Here're some photos:

Some close up shots of his wound now. They look more red in the pictures than in real life. I think the flash changed it a bit. It's more of a salmon and light pink coloration with the purple-tinted skin around it.

He didn't even seem slightly bothered by the scab coming off. His temperament is as calm and adventurous as ever. He didn't even get agitated when I gave him his antibiotic or surgical wash. I think he was too busy being excited about being out of his rehab tub. Lol.

The only thing that makes me sad is that he still doesn't move the wounded section too much when he cruises around. For the most part it stays fairly straight and stiff. He still has no problem getting around though.

Since tonight is feeding night I'm contemplating offering him either smaller food than usual or waiting a couple days first. I know he will have no problem appetite wise, but I just want to make sure before offering anything.

Ouchie! I know it looks so much better but still looks painful! That is healing nicely though, it's good to see that his skin is all pink and healthy! Hope he eats :)
