Why doesn't UPS have contact with their drivers? I mean, really. This is how packages get lost. I have $400 worth of Rodent Pro that's supposedly been sitting in a truck since 5:31am. It's now 3:06pm. The Origin Scan was done at 5:35pm on the 7th. It's the 10th now.

How could the dry ice possibly be keeping the mice in good condition? It's 86 degrees where I'm at right this moment and you know it's not that cool in the UPS truck.

Has anyone else had a problem like this where they know that their mice have been "Out for Delivery" for eight hours? Is there a better way to order mice because I'll do it next time. I'm just wondering what will happen if all the mice are bad. Would Rodent Pro reimburse or say it's not their problem? My snakes have been out of food for over a week now because I ran out of mice (stupid holiday schedules).

-End Rant-

Is Europe's package delivery as sucky? I know compared to London's bus system, Colorado's RTD (Regional Transportation District) is about a 3 on a scale of 10 and it's not even a subway. I think I'll have to find my friend Richard's email and ask him. He's a postal man in Norfolk.

Your mice will be fine. RP doesn't even ship overnight. :D They use like 50 pounds of dry ice... they use so much my last order had BROKEN rats, because the dry ice came out of the paper wrapping and got in contact with the plastic bags which broke, and then broke the rats.... SERIOUSLY cold. The inside of a frozen rat is cool looking by the way.

My one pet peeve with RP is that they put the dry ice on TOP of the meat... it should go on the bottom IMO. I am always afraid I'm gonna burn myself on the dry ice when I am unpacking the box.

RP is very good at understanding (and dealing with) the eccentricities of UPS, and it is rare that the rodents are delivered in poor condition, even if late. And if there is a problem, RP has always made it right for customers, AFAIK. There are threads about them on the BOI. People occasionally complain of getting some dirty mice (although I never did). But I never heard of anyone not getting replacements if they come in less than perfect shape. So I wouldn't worry too much.

I agree that your rodents should be fine... I ALSO agree, however, that in this day and age, UPS (or FEDEX or whatever company does such deliveries) should have contact with their drivers. In this day and age, there really is no excuse for them NOT to.

If it has to do with safety, dispatch could always give a code that says "contact us when you've stopped" and the driver could then contact them after a delivery.

did you get your mice?
if not and you need some let me know, i might be able to help you out until they get here

It sounds to me an normal amount of time to make a delivery to your area. You are just lucky enough to be on the end of the delivery route. I never see UPS until about 7 PM.

You really should be contacting Rodent Pro if you think you have a problem. It's not fair to them if you start a negative discussion for no reason about them on here.

Dick, I wasn't starting a negative discussion. I was asking a question is all. I'd never ordered mice directly from Rodent Pro before and didn't know exactly how they would handle it if UPS screwed up.

The mice finally came just as we were pulling out in the hearse after checking on my mutt butts. They spent 12 hours in the truck and the bottom of the box was starting to get a little soggy. The mice were cool to the touch and a few of the older mice had blood on them. Other than that, I'm pleased with the order. I'll just have to ask them to air the mice if possible next time. I hate being paranoid all day.

On the plus side, the driver really hates delivering boxes to my house. He knows that most likely the boxes he drops off contain animals of some sort. I can tell he really hates reptiles because he sneers/grimaces every time he sees me. Lol. It's not as if I actually drag reptiles out of the box in front of him.

I'm not sure if I did Gelshark. Did you need some? I could let you know within the next few days.
