Finding Corns in Kentucky

I am sure someone has posted a similar question sometime in the past but I am relatively new to this forum- so anyway...

Corn snakes are known to exist in two isolated locations in Kentucky- the so-called "Cave area" in and around Mammoth Cave National Park and in Red River Gorge contained within the Daniel Boone National Forest. For those who know where to look they are supposed to be quite common but I have never had any luck finding any there. Black Rats, Milks, Worm Snakes, Ringnecks and some Copperheads and Timbers but never a Corn.

Does anyone have any info on where to look within these areas - the type of terrain, inside or outside park boundries. Any info would help.

No I hadn't seen that. Great reading. Thanks! I live in Ohio now but grew up in Louisville. I can't wait to get back to Ky. for some herping in the early summer. Its hard to believe there was apparently an abundance of Corns an hour and a half from where I grew up.

I'm not sure about their saddle count and color theories, but they were some good looking animals. Good luck when you do get down there herpin'!

SHHH! It is a closely guarded secret in these parts. It is all in where you look but, don't expect many from this area to give you even an inkling of where to look they act like it is a matter of national security. PM me and I will give you some help.

This brings back memories.... I'm Kentucky born, and grew up across the river in southern Indiana. I wanna go herpin' at home!!!
