So, I decided today to try Casper, my male virgin snow with Winter, my female virgin snow today. I've tried Casper with two other females and gotten no real interest out of him. But when I put him in with Winter- oh MAN were they interested!
Lots of jerky "popping and locking" dancing and slithering over top of each other and chasing each other around the cage. here I am holding my breath and super excited, then I notice that Winter seems to be the one doing the chasing...and the one climbing on top of Casper.... and boom! They lock. But definitely not what I expected.
CASPER is a girl, and WINTER is a boy. Gee, no wonder Casper wasnt showing any interest in the other girls!
I bought Casper and Winter as an unrelated pair of yearlings from the same breeder two years ago and he sexed them in front of me. Casper is a snow with yellow patches and Winter is a strawberry snow so I could tell them apart easily. Either when he handed them to me he mixed up the results, or I mixed them up when I got home
either way WHOOPS.
BUT YAAAAY SNOW BABIES COMING!
