I didn't catch the Largemouth Bass I was hoping for, but did see three eastern garters and this guy:

Big one! We found one that size in my front yard a few years ago. I live about 3/4 mile from the water and about 80' higher in elevation, I don't know what it was doing there.
I made sure that I kept the head pointed away from me when I carried it!

What a monster. My dad has one about that size that come up from the wet lands in back of his house and rips apart his entire garden until she finda a spot to lay her eggs. I caught several of her babies. Its amzing how much they grow, from quater size to bite you hand off size!

That's awesome! We have a guy bigger than that in our big pond(when he was caught he was the diameter of a 55 gallon drum)! Every once in a while you'll see him poke his head out of the water and it's monstrous! He's been there now for 5 years. We get a lot of flack for letting our kids swim in the pond, but honestly, he never surfaces when people are in the water. I'M terrified of him but nobody else here is.
