Great pictures! We have some lizards that I've always that were those as well (side blotched right?) but ours look a little different. Maybe I've been wrong about them, or ours are just different. I always see them out on the Pacific Coast Highway.. I'll have to try and get some shots.

Really great pictures! I love the desert..

Yep side blotched lizard.. There is variation to them, some have more blue and etc.. Thanks :)

nice photos! Vegas looks like such a rough place to live, maybe I'll make it out to see for myself one of these days.

Such a cute little lizard! He almost looks like a mini-monitor!

He looks big in that pic but was actually only about 4 inches long.. He was bobbing his head at us it was soo cute...

We saw this guy too but the picture isnt that great since I had to zoom into the other side of the canyon area we where in..

Sauromalus obesus or Chuckwalla, hes in the center of the pic on a rock..

WOW I didn’t know the Thamnosma montana was in bloom already. There is a really cool butterfly whose larva feed on that plant.

The Eucnide rupestris, Rock Nettle, we call iron-on plant. You get it on your cloths and it’s like it is ironed on and will not come off.

Great pics Steph. Really pretty area. So if I understand what you are saying is this on the East side of the valley across from Mount Charleston?
