GHC 2014 pairings-Trying to show some restraint :)

I had just about decided to not breed any corns in 2014 but have found I seem to have enough demand locally that I still want to have a few on hand and figured I would just do 1 clutch of corns. I have some great future corn snake projects that I am holding off on mostly because I want to wait until juvies grow up, but I am also taking the oversaturated corn market into account.
My other 2 2014 pairings have both been non-corns, so I post this in GCC.

For my corn pairing, I paired Prometheus, ghost motley het stripe with Zipporah, hypo het anery, cinder, motley OR stripe. My main goal here was to get some nice "Ghost House" ghosts since that's what people ask me for the most. Half the clutch should be ghosts and the others hypo. Also half should be motley or stripe (I hope to prove the female's het as motley or stripe, any stripes in the clutch would mean she is het stripe.) All babies will be 50% poss het cinder.

For the non corns:
I have repeated my pairing of sinaloan milks as I have gotten some very nice aberrant milk snakes two years in a row from these guys. I'm hoping to improve my incubation luck with these guys.

Finally I paired my hypo everglades rat snakes for the first time. The female was a little too small last year, but finally looked good to go. I am hoping to get some really nice babies from these guys, their colors are intense and I see very few everglades rats for sale (except for the scaleless variety)

That's it for me this year!

I looked up your old threads of the milksnake hatchlings. I think I only saw pics of 2 of them, but they definitely were nice and unique looking! I hope you have better luck with them this year!

Me too! I tried to incubate them in the hovabator just like corn eggs the past 2 years and I am going to try the room temp method this time, Tavia this photo of their hookup is the only one I took, will have to update with egg pics later :)

my one corn pairing

What better way to celebrate easter? Zipporah laid her clutch today! I counted 20, possibly 21. Just yesterday she had still not settled down in the nest box so I was surprised she was all done laying her clutch when I checked on her this morning.

My Everglades girl had her clutch yesterday! 11 Huge eggs, if all goes well incubating I should have 11 orange bitey things in a couple of months ;)

Yep they are at least 1 1/2 times the size of corn eggs, maybe 2X. I was surprised to get this many given the size of them but mom's a big strong girl.

My sinaloan girl has had her clutch!
I'm nervous about this clutch since some of the eggs from this pairing have gone bad in the past. I have the eggs in sphagnum moss in the incubator, and have lowered the temps in there to about 81. I am wondering if I should have used vermiculite. But hopefully lowering the temps should help. I waited a couple of days before putting them in the incubator thinking of just using room temp method but the temps in my house were kind of cool and the top of the fridge was only about 75 on the temp gun.
Also the corn snakes shall hatch soon. It's day 55 on them :)

I hope you get better results with the milksnakes than you did with the past clutches. I remember that some of the babies you did get were lovely.

Everglades rat snakes time! These eggs have been denting all week and driving me crazy but when I checked them today one precocious baby was out already (and I didn't get the best pic because it wanted to kill me and I was laughing so hard)
After getting little feisty thing out of the way I checked on the rest of them and some others have pipped! I love the pic with the eye visible looking out of the shell. But I thought they would look more hypo. I guess the orange comes in later? Or do I have some kind of ghost?
