Ghost Bloodreds - Male & Female color comparison

I'm anticipating the variety in the ghost bloods that I produce in a few years. I really like the difference in yours. Since ghosts can have such a range of colours and shades, the ghost bloods should prove to be a popular morph. Does anyone have a working name for them, like granite, pewter, etc?

I wish I has a dozen too, lol !! I have to say they are BOTH my favorite =) I find it interesting they have such a variance of color between them. I am very interested to follow the color progression of other GhostBloodreds :)

Iridum (the female Ghostbloodred) will not breed until 2008, she is too young still. I don't want to chance egg-binding with too-early breeding. Orion the male should breed this coming breeding season - 2007, but I don't have any females to pair him with which might yield GhostBloodred offspring, unfortunately.

Orion has quite good muscle tone & mass for a young first time breeder & I have several choices of females to try him with. He should be around 200g by the time the females are ready to breed in the spring :) Right now, I think I'll only try him with one female, an Ultra I bought from Ultimate Corns.

I'll have a nice selection females which will be old enough in 2008, but for 2007, I should have 6 females 300g+ - amel, snow motley, butter motley, Ultra, snow, snow.

Updated photos of Orion my male GhostBloodred

 He's turned out to be an excellent breeder. 100% fertility on several clutches.

Updated photos of Iridium my female GhostBloodred. She had 100% fertility on her first clutch, I couldn't be happier.

The very last photo is Iridium as a hatchling. It's amazing how much their color changes from hatchlings to adults :)

Composite photo showing head patterns of the whole clutch. There are some clear patches on the head of each hatchling in this clutch. It should be quite interesting to watch these guys mature & develop.

The male Orion had clear rostral, internasals & a "phoenix" shaped patch directly behind the parietals as a hatchling. The clear later turned white as he matured. The female has a very tiny white patch behind the parietals. I plan to keep some 2007 females back & see how this develops in the future :) The pair certainly make beautiful babies!!

Last photo is the clutch pipping

Wow, they are both amazing! I am partial to the female but the male is pretty sweet too, I love his pastel colors!

I think Iridium is the prettiest, though it's close! I love the very pale salmon soloration on Orion's sides. Both are gorgeous!

Thanks so much for the update! I'm interested in seeing if the babies end up resembling their parents. You have the nicest adult Ghost Bloodred pair I've ever seen, in my humble opinion. MUST ...SAVE...UP... FOR... '08 ..OFFSPRING! Did you only keep that little girl back?

Thanks for the comments!!

I kept 3 females back from the first clutch. Each one of the 3 has a larger white head patch than their Dam Iridium. I'm trying to make white-headed GhostBloodreds :)

I also have 5.2 beautiful, very light Hypos het Anery + Diffused http://cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58354&page=2
THEIR Sire is Orion, Dam is Aurigia (very bright, clean colored Hypo)

I'll post photos of the other 2 female GBR I kept back soon, they're both due to shed within a few days. One is the "keeper" pictured on the mossy branch a few posts above. I also have a very few GBR from a 2nd clutch that also hatched right around the end of my shipping season.

Oh, awesome. Those hypos would fit quite nicely into the GBR project I have started. 1.2 Bloods het Anery A and Hypo. One of the females is a Granite het hypo. The bunch are '07s I got later on into the year, and still pretty tiny.
