Nanci I apologize,

Lockoff, You really need to take a good look at yourself before you join the military. I come from a military family and was raised to respect others, I'm pretty sure you were raised the same way, but you seem to be heading down the same road that a few others have traveled and Unfortunately it is not a good one.

I have no doubt that you can make it through the training and that you will earn your eagle, globe and anchor, but the hard part will be when you have to prove to your betters whether or not you deserve it.
Every Marine I know has told me that no matter what rank you are, the people who out rank you in the Marines will treat you like garbage. And, You have to take it. If you think you deserve respect, you have to earn it. Going through basic will earn you the respect of Civilians, but those who have gone through it before you, and have been through much more than you have and probably will ever go through in you military career are expecting much more out of you.

You have to learn to keep your temper in check and learn how to take orders, because the next however long you will be in after you join for good, will be people barking orders at you and expecting to see results. If you do not give those results there will be paperwork and enough paperwork leads to a discharge.

I have had Upper management that wanted to see me kicked out of the military, for some reason or another, but you know what... I respected their rank, even if they were not a good person, and I did not give them anything to use against me.
If you keep acting the way you do now while you are in, I will be surprised to see you last longer than 8 months. Because it really doesn't take long to gather enough paperwork to kick someone out of the military.

You really should take Oren's advice, even though he was in the military for another country, He is very well spoken and has relayed to you most of what you should do in order to make military life easier on you.

And honestly, Your attitude towards the people here, trying to give you advice on what you should try to change about yourself, is uncalled for. You may think you know about what the military will be like. But, all you know is stories from family... I can tell you one thing. My military experience was nothing like my fathers, my grandparents, or my cousins experiences, because 1, Its a different time and a different way of dealing with things, and 2 it is what you make of it.

I just wish you could understand that we are trying to help you out, even though it may seem like we are attacking you, we are trying to get you to see that always playing the victim will get you chewed up and spit out by the Marines, because it is a weakness that they will not put up with.

i already kknow everything you just said and i thank you for being respectful but i treat higher ups with respect. my staff ergeant is a complete jack*** but i always respect him. hes my staff sergeant. i realize my experience in the corp will be different but i already know that its how i make it and i know not to smart off or be rude. i know what will happen. i respect all my higher ups. people treat me likei dont know anything bout military life andi do. i always respect my higher ups no matter how much i hate them. i never call them dude or bro or anything like that i always say ma'am and sir. staff sergeant ect. i cal my self this recruit. these recruits that recruit. if he tells me to run i run until he says stop. im not military retarded.

Alright, well here is some advice for the civilian side of life. Treat everyone with the respect that you would your higher ups in the military. I know you don't have to, but its a good thing to start doing, because there are people out there that can and will find out who your management are in the military, and will call and report any misconduct. You may think you are on your time, but remember this. Once you finalize that contract with the government, You are theirs and that includes what you think is your own time. I know plenty of people who have been given Article 15's or worse because of something that they did on "their" time.

I think your big problem is that you keep saying that you "know" all of this stuff. But from what I have read I have learned this from your posts.

1. You know what you have been told by friends and family and the recruiter, news flash, recruiters do lie and tell half truths.
2. If you keep up the attitude towards random people in your life it will bleed over to the military, because pretty soon, It will be your life for as long as your in, whether you like it or not.
3. If you keep on with the "I know" stuff, people are just going to start ignoring your posts no matter what you have to say because no one likes a know it all.

You truly do not know military life until you live military life yourself. You can assume all you want about what to expect, but until you are in it over your head, you wont know. And by over your head, I mean after its too late to back out of your contract.

Just my 2 cents, take it or leave it.

I seriously hope you take my advice and what I have said. I was in your shoes once, I have been there and done that. I have the uniforms and 214 to back it up.

:roflmao: Now, just a question... how much clothing is required in these pictures? :grin01: I've got everything from snow clothes to... well... not.
Well, judging by the fact that you live in Florida, I'm willing to bet that there's a lot more "not" in your closet than snow clothes, lol.

@Wade and Orin, I must say, I'm quite flattered at the near electronic dual, and am glad we've all decided to be friends.
Also, I'm sorry I missed that particular piece of fun. :roflmao:

Don't worry Orin, I'm not your type. My world is cornsnakes, yours is boas...alas...it could never be...we'd always be fighting over what to buy on our feeder orders, or what morphs to buy...it would just be a nightmare. *Dramatic Sigh* ;)

As for Wade, I think his wife would swat me like a mosquito. Probably him too. :p

:cool:Good thing, the boyfriend will be relieved. :poke:

Especially with my name being Oren rather than Orin.

im not worried bout my time. i went back in there with my staff sergeant and he figured out why they kicked me out. it was because im "intimidating" i look intimidating and the employee was scared after i called her the name. so my staff sergeant told her to let me back in and on the premises or he would have brought up on discrimination charges. which it is discrimination to kick someone because they look a certain way. its like my staff sergeant saying he wont recruit her for the marines because she likes women.

i asked one of the employees where she was. this employee does not like me because we would tease each other when we were friends and she got mad i said her name wrong so she doesn't like me anymore. well i went up to her and asked her where is my girlfriend? she said "shut the f*** up talking to me" yes i know, it makes no sense. well i called her a b**** under my breath and appearently she heard.

Interesting.

I voet for or not for everyone  LOL! I think it should be up to the person posing to pick their attire. I am brave, enough to have faith in everyone to come up with their own unique style. So feel free to make creative choices!

It is nothing like kicking someone out or not enlisting someone just because of how they look. You verbally insulted an employee (regardless of who started it). Even if they also banned you because your looks intimidated them they also banned you because your verbally lashed out at one of their employees. They may have indulged you staff sergeant and allowed you back, but they did not have to. Legally they were in the clear to ban you once you said the b word.

How did you manage to find a staff sergeant who is willing to micro manage your life and fight your battles for you? I have never in my experiences with lots of family/friends who serve ever seen a situation like this before? Does anyone know if this is common? Do recruiters and other officers routinely bail out recruits/enlisted personnel? In all of my experiences that sort of thing would never happen. Surs I have heard of cases where a recruiter might consider helping clear up an issue so that the recruits enlistment process can proceed more smoothly, but I have never heard of a situation where a recruit or other enlisted person was routinely calling on their higher ups to get them out of jams. And I have never met higher ups that would be inclined to go around getting other people's behinds out of trouble. SO to all teh military people out there I ask. How common is this?

You would be surprised at how often recruiters do something to cover up what their recruits have done. Recruiters need to meet a quota of people that they get to join the military, and once they have someone that is willing to join, as long as the person doesn't kill someone they will do what they can to cover up all his/her transgressions until after he/she has signed the contract and swore the oath.

I want to know why anyone cares about what this guy supposedly says or does? Haven't we had enough of the drama?

It's not common at all! Usually, when you get in trouble in the civilian world, you get in more trouble in the Military World!

A recruiter may be a "Military" person, but they are still a person. When I was enlisting, mine didn't have special "Powers" to prosecute. :shrugs:

I should say there is a lot of truth in this. I have heard of recruiters calling to get tickets fixed or even showing up at hearings and paying fines. But according to him, he is already enlisted and should be commissioned by the end of April. :shrugs:
