Kiss My Hearse
I think that's why Colorado makes it seven years before it's considered a legal common law marriage.
So, if you _are_ in a common-law marriage, and want to split, is there a legal procedure for that? What are people supposed to do?

Obviously no one is claiming she is legally his wife, he just refers to her as his wife. I could call my boyfriend the President of the United States but he wouldn't be, he'd still be my boyfriend. Now you're even picking apart his pet names for his girlfriend?
I officially brand those who continue to poke this thread as Necrophiliacs.

I find that extremely offensive to the millions of puppies living in the United States. A human and a puppy are NOT the same legally or otherwise and anyone claiming otherwise either doesn't understand the legal differences between dogs and humans or doesn't have respect for the millions of dogs that will no longer be puppies in a few years. :sobstory:Actually, HE is claiming that she is his wife. Personally, I don't care what he calls his girlfriend. He could call her his puppy, for all I care. But for anyone to claim that long term dating and being married is "the same thing", either has no idea what it legally involves to be married, or has no respect for the millions of Americans fighting every day for the legal right to refer to their life-partners as husband or wife.
It's not a matter of "pet names" as much as it is a matter of legality and respect. Too many people are fighting way too hard for that right for it to be "poopooed" as some sort of "pet name". It is so much more to soooo many people, and I find it slightly disrespectful to use the term as the combination of "pet name" and direct insult that he does.
"She might as well be my wife, she runs my life"...if it sucks that much...go. Better yet...put your girlfriend on for a minute...
[to the girlfriend/wife/servant] Run, sweetheart. This guy has less respect for you than he does for the loogie he wanted to eat. Whoever you are, you can do much better by committing yourself to someone that actually respects you...

If you're going to get butthurt about something Jason does or says, at least make it something with some actual basis rather than NUH UHHH HE'S NOT ALLOWED TO CALL HIS GIRLFRIEND THAT IT'S A DIFFERENT THING.

Susan, you are so bad. And just a note, your age is gone so you are no longer too old for me.
Are you, perhaps, a noted authority on the subjectoke:
