Heaviest 08 cornsnakes??

torsten

Too many yet too few!!!
hi,

what weight is your heaviest 08 cornsnake? what morph is it? what is it being fed on and how often? and pictures please!!

this is not intended to encourage owners to powerfeed in order to get large snakes but purely out of interest.

i have a female miami het cinder from carol huddlestone which weighs almost 60g the day before she is fed, she is beginning to look a little chubby so i am cutting back on her food. she is currently on double fuzzies every 7 days.. but am cutting that back to a single one or a single slightly bigger one every 7 days instead.

she is not hugely overweight, she is big not just fat but then again i cant deny that she is getting a tad chubby.

i will post pictures when i have time(i'm sorry, not setting a very good example am i.. too much coursework for my GCSEs unfortunatly)

Sorry, my biggest is nine grams! But he came from a half-sized egg...Oh, mine's a Huddleston Miami, too!

All are fed on the same schedule and housed in the same circumstances. They get 25% of body weight every 5 days, FT mice, I do not slit them and I give a single food item whenever possible. All get about an hour to eat. I don't generally leave mice overnight with them or do anything specific to get them to eat now that they are feeding well.

Molly had a regurge on her third feeding with me, but has been fine since then. Because of it she missed a feeding and got fed smaller mice for a couple of weeks, which is probably why she is the smallest.

Pinky is getting a touch chubby, but I probably won't worry about it too much as they switch to 20% body weight every 7 days once they hit 50g anyway. He's also more active and constricts more than any of the others.

All have had at least one refused or missed meal except Pinky and Lance. They all just had a 2 week break from eating due to me being out of town for Thanksgiving and then having a cold that grounded me for a week. They have also had many times where they were fed at 6 or 7 days instead of "on schedule" at 5 days.

the biggest i know of, is 80 odd grams here in the uk.. my biggest is 48 grams, a hypo lav stripe from lee abbott, but his stuff always grows fast.
i have them righ down to about 4 grams.
i think i have 4 over 40 grams in all though, but most are 20 or so.

Most of my 08 females are at around 30-40g and the males range from 8g which is the lightest but most are between 20 and 30g.

My Anery from Drizzt weighed in at 30 grams. She's fed a fuzzy (or double pinks, sometimes the store I get mice from doesn't have fuzzies) every 7 days. My other 2008 (Caramel male from Jeff Mohr) hasn't been weighed but he's much smaller than my Anery.

I have 7 July 08 hatclings left and when I weighed them about a month ago my heaviest was 18g they are on double pinkies. I also have a yearlying corn and she weighs about 48g she is on a fuzzie a week.

on that note, my 2007s range frm 35 grams to just over 200. i have about 50 in all.

not quite my little girl anymore

I accidentally powerfed my first amel when I got her (I read a book that said 1 pinkie every three days, and my vet said she was ready for two pinkies and I ended up giving her 2 pinkies every three days) until I came here and was set straight. It was only for a week or two, but I think it definitely accelerated her growth.

The last time I weighed her, she was 80 grams. I am not positive how old she is, but she was 13 grams in the beginning of June. I have followed the Munson plan since my early error, and I have been using a digital scale to double check feeder weights. She has only missed 2 meals (one pre shed, another when she escaped for a week).

The funny thing is, she almost looks like she is a little bit skinny. She is really long, I would measure her now but I literally just fed her a minute ago.

The only caveat is that I did not receive any information regarding her birth date etc. (she was from a local pet store), though I don't think she could be that old considering her weight when I got her.

Biggest in our collection of 2008 babies is Turok which is my daughters snake. He weighs 36 grams he is a Butter Cornsnake from SMR.

My 2007's range from 39 to 170ish. I believe one of the smallest ones was brumated as a hatchling...

Obviously I need to feed mine more often. My babies are tiny compared to your monsters. I'm feeding my 08's the same way I fed my 07' butter and he weighs 110 grams. :) I'm just waiting till they weigh a little more then they can have bigger food.

my biggest '08 corn is my hypo het charcoal female who weighs 17g

but if you wann talk biggest '08 in my entire collection that you be my '08 macklots python who now weighs 115g

well f we are starting on 08 hatchlings of all snakes then my female cinnamon royal is well over 200g now. she is my largest royal.

I have 16 that were born 8/24/08, half golddust motley and half butter motley. There were all 7- 8 grams when they hatched and were 20-24 grams when I weighed them last night.

My heaviest '08 just hit 70 grams. He is a male caramel named CrackerJack that I purchased in early June from pgr8dnlvr (Rebecca Purdom of Triple-R-Corns) located in Aldergrave, BC. He is currently on hoppers every 7 days.

08' s on double fuzzies! My 07's are half on single fuzzies and half on double fuzzies. No wonder my snakes grow slow. :D

PS: I just went and weighed them: they range in size from a 77g amel het butter stripe to a 301g snow het lavender.

I hadn't weighed them in a while. Looks like the smallest are ready for double fuzzies and the bigger ones are ready for adults! YEESH! :D
