My name is Becca. I joined a few days ago so I could see the pictures that my partner Margaret (VampMN) wanted me to see. Well, today was the start of Repticon in Columbia, South Carolina, so we went down there so Margaret could buy a snake. We saw lots of snakes - and other critters, too! I got to meet zeewhiz (hey, Matthew!) and Walter Smith and Michael from Tennessee. Margaret was able to get the snake she's been wanting since she first saw it - and I'll let her tell you about it. But I fell in love with a little ghost stripe that Matthew had at his table, and I couldn't resist buying it. Absolutely beautiful little guy!
So that's how I've become a snake owner: didn't mean to, wasn't going to, but when I held the ghost stripe and felt it gliding across my hands, I just had to have him!
Fortunately Margaret has been doing lots of research on the care and feeding of corn snakes, so what I don't know I can depend on her to catch me up. And I'm going to do my research too, because any animal you're going to keep in captivity deserves to have the best care you can give it.
Here's pics of my snake. I haven't named him yet.
