Okay so I was blown away by the overwellming responce to my posting of the artwork I am doing with herps lately. So I guess I will make it offical *since I keep quitting my real job as Lauren keeps saying* and open up to commissions!

Here are some examples of the jewelry/sculptures....

I am pretty cheap. Just let me know what you have in mind. Most simple snake pendents would be like 20 or so. Most small simple paintings about the same. Larger or more complicated stuff could be figured out togeather.
I might even take snakes in trade. *wink wink*
PM me anytime for your ideas. No pressure..no obligation!:dancer:

I love your ponies. Maybe you could make my old pony with wings. :) Oh and you are very talented, I'd buy sooo many of those pony drawings if I had the money. :)

Wow Tara, you are talented!
I like the cornsnakes best, can you do morphs?
The ball pythons look great too, very realistic, but corns are my critters of choice :)
I would like to find a realistic cornsnake looking critter to wrap around my rear view mirror, but I doubt your snakes are bendy.
I really like them though....maybe a pendant of some type....
VERY nice!

Daytona is having a juried Art show/sale. You might consider sending your stuff in for acceptance. The artist doesn't have to be present to enter. Just a thought...

Sure. I can do any morph and actually will possibly be doing an anery soon for someone else on the board. But yep...any snake any color is possible.
Thanks so much for the kind comments too!!

neat...I will have to look into that!

Those are very cool!. It's been a long while since I've made anything out of clay, but those look like fun. My brother once made copies of a pen and ink corn snake drawing he did and those were a blast to color in, so I can only imagine how cool it must be to create something 3D and do the same. It's also it good idea with corn snakes, too, because already you have people who want one that's the same as a morph they already own. Once you get the hang of it, and you get your technique down, I'm sure you'll have something to really build off of. Honestly, really cool stuff, and it looks like a lot of fun to do, too!.

I imagine if we packed those carefully we could ship them. I will tell Tara to come look and respond.

FYI... if you think the finished products are neat, you would die to see her do it... she starts with a little clump of wet mud and ends up with this gorgeous sculpture. It is incredible. As a non-artistically oriented person, it's akin to a miracle in my books. ;)

Yeah shipping those would not be bad. I would just use layers and layers of bubblewrap and then maybe double box. They are small so it would be easy to do without getting too expensive to ship.

And Lauren, you are a nut.

those are fantastic! you use acrylics to paint them, i take it?

i like to use colored polymer clays. mine look more cartoony though.

i bet if you made a bunch of morphs into ornaments they'd be flying off the shelves around christmastime.

I love you two girls. I'd like to watch it done, too.
And like the idea of morphs. Too bad guys are so much more limited with sporting necklaces, pins, and keychains. Yeah...yeah...I know. I would personally love to wear a corn snake morph pendant necklace to work, but I think it would distract co-workers and clients alike.
My mother is already vaguely/mildly concerned at how "eccentric" I'm becoming.

I'd like to take a clump of that stuff and build a small statue-esque type figurine (maybe 4-6" diamter-ish figurine) but I'd be afraid of it drying out before I finish. What is the working time on the apoxisculpt?

I can't wait to see more of your creations, different morphs would be neat.

Ooooo I could probably do tie pins. But yeah...poor guys. No fun accessories for you. We shall just have to make you a sculpture to put on your desk....should you have a desk. And yeah...we want to meet you too! Laur said she always wanted to see Louisiana....

It takes about a hour before it becomes hard to work with and kinda stiff. 3 hours and it's rock hard. It is VERY different from sculpy. It's softer, cracks easier and is stickier. It takes some getting used to when you first start. But then...you will love it forever. It's strong, doesn't shrink, sticks to stuff, and it doesn't have to be baked. I could not live without it anymore. :dancer:
