Hi, Central Florida vendors?

Hi all!

I am just getting my husband on board with the pet snake idea. I am still doing a lot of research.

Any good breeders local to the Central Florida area?

I just went to the local reptile convention; but I wasn't comfortable not having done research on the individual reptile vendors there.

Thanks for any help :)

HI :)

I think that in anywhere in Florida, you could knock on your neighbors door and find out that they breed snakes LOL Just kidding of course.

Even though I search daily and buy out of Florida a lot, I don't know anybody specifically in the Orlando area.

There are a lot of excellent breeders on here. I have not come across one yet that I would feel uncomfortable buying from.

If you do search through Faunaclassifieds or Kingsnake for a local breeder/dealer then I would definitely search them on the BOI (Board Of Inquiry) on the Faunaclassifieds.com site as there are some you want to avoid.
Good luck on your hunt..................

I love the photos posted by forum member LRDJ. They are in Maitland, FL (Legacy Reptiles). I'd definitely check them out.

Not to mention if you need a snake vet, you can't do any better than Dr. Orlando!!

Yeah that too. There are several really good breeders in Florida, including you Nanci!! I'd like to take a week or so and drive around the state and visit them all!!

I'm a bit late to this thread but I'm in central Fl too. Everything everyone here has said is true and I can personally give approval for Dr. Orlando and Nanci. Great folks, my snakes have come from a variety of places. My King came from a breeder I was working next too at a Tampa repticon (Don Stipp) he attends many local area reptile shows, I have ordered from "Colorado Corns" and they delivered my beautiful buckskin okeetee safe and quick. I just picked up a gorgeous butter at this past show from "Jonathon sells reptiles" a breeder from Plant city (I'll introduce him to the group soon, he's settling in nicely). Basically there's a breeder in every direction lol. Definitely check out websites and go with one you feel comfortable with. I haven't been disappointed yet and I never imagined I'd be interested in snakes 12 yrs ago. Learned much by joining this forum recently. Great people and beautiful serpents. Feel free to MSG me if you need any other advice the others (that are far away) can't provide.

Thanks so much to all of you. I am doing a lot of reading to learn about caring for corns as well as choosing a morph. I love to support local businesses, so far I have only been to Pet Bazaar and the convention for browsing. Shipping an animal has never been or seemed ideal. I've had bad experiences receiving shipments of animals of a different hobby before, so I'd really prefer to avoid that. But I'll have to see what I find.
