Hi, I'm New

Thanks for the welcome guys :)

I keep learning so much. Do you ever stop learning things about these wonderful beasts?

I have kept corns for 12 years, and I'm still learning!
You have a lovely little girl there, isn't it cute when they eat?
Welcome to the forum, and the addiction!

It is :)

The first time she ate I didn't see her eat, but came back to her viv for her to be sitting there looking up at me all innocent with the goodl ol' "I didn't do it" look about her, Needless to say the big lump in her middle suggested otherwise :)

She's still well nervous when it comes to eating, I'm currently investing in some plants etc.. to give her a bit more security :)

well as for the feeding, it sounds like you feed her in her viv?

if thats the case, many people would suggest that you feed her in a seperate container. there are probably a couple different reasons, but i think the biggest ones are, when eating in her viv, she could accidently get some of the bedding. which could cause digestive problems. another reasoning i would think is, when you stick your hand in, she could think she's going to eat everytime and possibly strike at you. if they kno when you stick your hand in that it is to most likely being handled they will not strike.

so i suggest you would try to feed her in a carboard box, or even a critter carrier like i use.

oh and ive seen quite a few people from great britain etc on this board. so i think you have some friends from over there. lol

Hey Steph :)

Cheers for the advice.

Yes, at present I feed her in her viv, but I put the pink on a dish so that there's no substrate contamination of the food.

Also, I was my hand with a different soap when I handle her to when I feed her, just so that she gets used to one smell being a gentle handling smell, and no food.

Thridly, I do intend of feeding her outside the viv, at present as she's been with me less than 2 weeks I just want her to get settled in the viv so she knows she's safe, instead of yanking her out to feed all the time :D

Everyone else, thanks for the welcomes D:

Ok.. Sounds good, as long as you know it is recommended to feed outside of the viv, and you plan on switching over. So it all works out!
