Grabbed a few pics of my tiny hoggie feeding last night and of my GTP going through his colour change and thought I'd show them off :)

Oh no, now you made me want a GTP too!! I have control issues when it comes to snakes..

I'm jealous that your hog lets you take pics while eating. I have to put mine in a container inside his viv, and walk away! He likes privacy, and I've found keeping him warm helps him eat better. Hey, he's eating regularly again, I'll take what I can get!

Thanks for your comments everyone! :)
The hog used to be very shy with feeding, I've only had him since September when I picked him up from a show, he was on a table with hundreds of other hoggies of varying morphs and I picked him from the bottom of one of the piles of tubs! Love at first sight! :p
He refused to feed any more often than every 10 days and didn't really like me watching him, and then one day he kind of just threw himself at it and has been an absolute pig ever since! This was the first time I've taken him out of his tub to feed him, I offered him the pink on my hand and he took it straight away so I thought I'd push my luck and take some pics :)

Thank you! :)

I got him from Doncaster show, was a long old drive to get there (or at least a long drive for the UK ) but we stayed with friends for the weekend. We're hoping to go to the September show again this year, it was a really great show, just as good as Kempton and Portsmouth, if not better! I can't remember for the life of me who the seller was though unfortunately, however I remember there being loads of hoggies for sale at Kempton show back in August, so I would imagine there'll be lots more again this year! :)

I live in the UK also but I missed all the shows last year due to being constantly on the road due to family illness ... :-(

hopefully I'll get to a couple this year. Esp when I see such beautiful snakes ...

Which did you enjoy the most?

Sorry to hear that :( I hope things are better for you and your family now!
I think I enjoyed Doncaster the most if I'm honest, from what I understand the September one is the best one to go to as the June one tends to be more of last year's snakes that still hadn't sold, and a few early hatched snakes, whereas the September one just has EVERYTHING haha, there was so much choice on everything, it's like being a kid in a sweet shop :p
Kempton was a really great show too, loads of variety and as it's at precisely the right time of year for animals to be ready for selling, it's perfect for pretty much anything you could want :)
Portsmouth in October is really good too, not as crowded as Kempton which is nice, more space to move and breathe! Probably a little less amount of animals but still a good turn out :) I recommend them all!

Oh well I guess I'd better go to them all then!!! :D

Cute green tree. What type is it? Doesn't look like a Biak. This is the fun part of having them....the change. I have a high blue animal beginning to change now. It will be interesting to see how it comes out. Love the hoggy pictures too!

Thanks! He was sold as a high white Aru, both his parents are high whites but from what I understand that doesn't necessarily mean that the babies will also be high white, not that I'm bothered either way :) he's an awesome little snake!

Haha yup, he is pretty tiny weeny :) you should've seen him when we first got him, he's just about doubled in size since then! In fact this is the day we got him, trying to transfer him from his travel tub to his new home, trickier than you'd think

Unfortunately you can't really see just how small he really was, but believe me that paintbrush handle is reeeeally thin!
I was expecting him to be really difficult to look after to be honest, he technically belongs to my OH so he does all the looking after, but it's so much simpler than people think, he just needs a good mist every day to keep the humidity up, really really similar to keeping dart frogs!

So now that you have me on the whole GTP interest...
What do they eat as adults, can you feed them f/t, and how do you move him out of his cage when it comes time to clean? (From my understanding they're not handleable, or is this incorrect?)
Thanks :)
I know there's always alot of GTP's at the expo I go to.. I may just find myself with one of these for a beautiful display snake, since everyone else is too busy hiding under things the rest of the time.

All my green tree pythons eat f/t. They take weanling rats. You don't have to remove them to clean as they perch on their branches off the ground. During the day they are sleeping and you can jst reach in and clean. Many gtp are not good with handling but I have many that are very mellow...some of the most mellow ones to handle of all my snakes as a matter of fact. My one Sorong type can be held by children if they want to. For the most part, if I need to move a chondro out of the cage, I use gloves and lift them off the perch...takes a little practice to get the whole body because if they wrap a tail around, you have to sit and tickle the tip until they let go. As far as hiding, my corns never hid out. I don't feed weekly so my snakes are out and hunting all the time. I rarely had a cornsnake that wasn't out unless it was just fed or going into shed.
