Well, excessive bumping of the thread would wind up annoying quite a few people. In my personal opinion, having this thread stickied is a great way to keep it up towards the top.

I never post I just read and watch, but Im breaking that rule and thought I would submit a picture, I hope to start posting more cause I need everyones help-I want to learn corn-genetics.

I unfortunately broke my only lens before the contest and couldn't find a used one in time :( I had really wanted to compete in this one....sigh...
 
Just a thought. Why such a long wait between the opening of the voting and submission deadline? I know that everything needs to be organized, but I don't think it would take a week. Just my opinion.
 
Actually, I was just thinking that today! <lol>
Brent came up with the general time frame, and I didn't think to edit that part. I do agree that a week seems like an awful long time between the submission deadline and the polls launching. Being that you and Matthew volunteered to help, what do you two think would be enough time allotted? Myself I can have everything ready to go within 24 hours, but I realize not everyone has as much time on their hands as I do. ;)

I know that I'd probably be good with 3 days, tops, although I could probably have it posted the same night. But that's just me.

I know the feeling I couldn't get anyone to lend me a camera and I'm not getting mine till Christmas. I was really looking forward to particapating and I wasn't able too, but I can for the next one. :(

Depending on how many entries are made, a week is a fair enough amount of time to get things organized and make a post that is hopefully error free.

Anything else anyone wants to complain about?! Just wondering . . . ;)

Or what about even amending it to be "Polls will open no later than X date". Thus if someone can get them up within 24 hrs great, if someone else needs several days, that's fine, too. That way people know when the polls will be open at the absolute latest, yet the organizer can post them at their convenience?

I'd like to lodge a complaint - you guys keep running these contests that force me to spend time trying to make an entry that I could be using to watch important youtube videos or something. On top of that, making me get my snake out for photoshoots... geez, you ANIMALS. :p

Seriously, everyone who is spending their free time on setting this up is awesome. It's appreciated - I can't wait to see the entries.

I'm really looking forward to the results...! Unfortunately I wasn't able to enter (again!) because I had so stupid priorities... imagine, diploma thesis comes first before snake pics :realhot:

(I just hope there will be a contest the day I have the time to enter... :p)
