How many snakes did you buy in 2008?

How many snakes do you think you're gonna get in 2009?

OK, my wish list for 2009. NOT gonna get all of them, but I'm gonna keep my eyes open for the right one to fall into my lap.
1.1 rufous-beaked. (Rhamphiophis oxyrhynchus.)
0.2 Rubber boa. Charina bottae.
Maybe, if there's funds left, a spider BP.

Maybes.
A few hatchling hypo, halloween, oreo, tangerine, or apricot peublans. Very picky on these.
A hypo honduran, a nice one.
The 'right' corns and kings to match what I've got. (Way too long to list.)
Another ARS rack. (Ouch!)

I got a few snakes last year. Another Boa (BCI) a nice corn, a couple of Boiga, and lots of Carpets....
This year I am on the look out for more carpets... I know what I'd like so we'll have to wait and see if they come up...
We've had a few hook ups already, and I'm hoping for some more. Fingers crossed we may have a little army of snakelets in a few months or so.....

A LOT!!! in '08

AKA too many per my family.. LOL

Something like 65+ in '08 and already have 2 in the first
week of '09 ..

I figure to clarify.... 65+.. but many were freebies & rescues
So I didn't "Buy" that many.. LOL

I got seven in '08.

Four ball pythons, two milks, and one evil king.

As well as a couple geckos and a giant vinegaroon, but those aren't snakes...:nope:

It's a little late, but I wanted to jump in...

I bought all of 2 snakes in '08. My first ever snake, a normal Motley, and a Black Milk.
I voted for option 2 in the poll - I will very likely be getting a female Black Milk (for future breeding purposes) from the same breeder I got Joakim from. I'm also thinking about buying a few different Corn morphs - I'd love to get a hypo lav, anery blood, butter motley, and a few more. I've only got males right now, so i'd like to pick up a few more females. If I could find more space, I think i'd probably have more than just the two right now.

I'm going to a local reptile show on the 11th.
I have to remember that I have limited space.
But if I see one of the ones on my hit list, I'm gonna get 'em first, and ask questions later.
I guess if all goes well, I'm gonna need more space for hatchlings.

I dont think I will be buying any more... but I know that I will be field herping until I collapse. :D

In 2008, I bought around 30 snakes... not all corns. Caught a few but only kept 1. I even received a beautiful "freebie" late X-mas present from a very special someone on here YESTERDAY along with beauty that I bought before the New Year! LOL. Should she count as a 2008 acquisition or a 2009? I didn't KNOW she was coming... so I'm thinking 2009. LOL.

Besides her, I'm thinking I might be able to add a couple (WAAYYY less than 10)... but not much more. Wife and space are the two biggest factors. LOL.

I got 2 new snakes in 2008. Bill the Blizzard from Dean, and Duke, a Bullsnake, from a local guy who needed to rehome him.

We started 08 with only 4, but somehow ended up with 13. So I guess that would only be 9, not too bad. Ran into the same problem as The Thunderer, wife and room. We will see what 09 holds in store for us. We are hoping for hatchling this year.

Hahaha, on the one hand I feel like I'm at about snake saturation, on the other hand there's that liiiiitle voice that says "just X or Y would round out your gene pool reeeeally nicely... and hey that other species is really cool!"

It looks like I'm probably going to get a pair of womas :D And I'd like to get a nice pewter as well as an ultra or ultramel girls.
... I'm also hardcore checking out loxocemus bicolors but I'm going to try to hold off since I got the womas :p

quiet shockingly(to me) i bought 20 snakes in 2008.

half of them are corns for future breeding projects the others were ones i fell in love with either color or personality wise.

in 2009 i plan to buy less then 10...a few more corns for my projects and a couple candoia(sp?) boas

The local show here sucked really bad, everyone went to indy instead.
I did get a chance to handle a 4 foot alligator, and brought home a skinny male adult apricot peublan milk for $45. I have more snakes at home than were present at the show. That was sad.
