How often do you pair up?

I'm just wondering how often you pair up snakes when breeding. once every 24 hours, once a couple days, once a week, etc... ?
And How long do you normally keep them together.

I paired up my Okeetee's last night and they looked like they were trying to lock up but i didn't actually see them lock. They did alot of the shaking and winding themselves around one another, but never saw them try and lock up.

First breeding btw for me and both snakes are virgins.

If they look like they are trying I'd leave them together a while and check for evidence a few hours later, I give them 2-3 days in between pairings.

Depends on the male. Some of my males want to go every other day, some need two full days between breedings.

If I see the animals copulate right away, which doesn't occur as often as I'd like, I will remove the male hours later. If they are trying, but I don't see it, I will leave them together for 3 or 4 days. I only pair once a week. But I will keep introducing them until I see ovulation, and sometimes up til the female's prelay shed cycle.

What's better though, putting them together and leaving them together for a day or two, or putting them together every couple days for a few hours? Is it better to have them in full light, partial light or darkness?

Right before a thunderstorm, or when low barometric pressure is abundant, from dusk throughout the night,
and/or
During the period of about a week on either the beginning or aftermath of a the full moon.
But some want to do it all the time. Others are more cautious. Or selective. Or whatever that's called. Precocious.
without the lights on seems a plus for first timers.

I was just looking at last year's notes and most of mine were put together for a few hours to a day between 5 and 10 times total. Everyone did the job in the end.

You might not ever catch it unless you're constantly watching. If you use clean paper towel it should be pretty obvious if they did anything, there'll be a little mess in there and maybe some blood.

I put them together again today for about 5 hours or so from 5-10pm. They were interested in eachother for a while, didn't see anything happen, but i was out for a couple hours. I didn't see any aftermath in the container either. I'm going to feed them tomorrow and then try maybe Tuesday or Wednesday again. I'll just keep trying every few days or more and hopefully something actually happens.

Recently ive been putting my two kiddos into their tanks for two days straight, giving them a two-three day break and then trying again.

Usually Brians like "aww yeah!"... and Sugar lays still... then they calm down and just cuddle, but no lock ups.
Its interesting to watch though.

I have been having no luck at all so far this season. I have been trying before dusk though so that may be why. I just did some feedings tonight so I am going to have to wait a few days for a couple of the pairs. Two pair did all the right moves just didn't hit it out of the park :)
Then my male ended up being a female and the female a male..shocked even my friend who I got them from. I can still mate them but the outcome with who I was going to put the male (now female) with in another pairing since I have to use the other one now, may be different so we'll see..if I can ever get them to hook up!
