I am so sick to my stomach I could vomit.

As of this morning she still had them retained. I am starting to think that she might have a fold or something in there cause I tried massaging her belly and I can move those eggs up but when I rock them back they make a hard hit and wont move any closer to the vent. I really feel like I am walking a fine line of do I let it ride a little longer or do I seriously intervene. Because I am able to move them one direction and she is staying hydrated and overall ok. I have decided to let her be for now. I would go ahead and aspirate the eggs but I am not sure that if she does have a fold over that egg that doing that would even help and I do not want to put anymore stress on her than she is already getting right now.

I labored for 27 hours with out an epidural before finally going to have a c-section so when I went to check on her this morning I told her Mommy knows what it is like to have babies that don't want to come out. Although, thinking about that now. That is the last think a girl in labor wants to hear.

I believe a vet can just look in there and see what is going on. By gently prying the vent open with an instrument.

Back when I was dumber about these things,I had a pair of Amels juvies togetehr.I didn't know they were apair until she laid 5 eggs<both were less than a year old>The exciting/upsetting thing is,the two that hatched were Anery's!Sadly, being dumber than I am now,I lost all 4 snakes before I could prove anything out.It was NOT the early mating that did them in,just inexperienced husbandry

I had called the vet that I use to work with and talked to his wife. She was going to have him call me back but she was going to have him come to the house. That way I don't have to stress her out with driving her somewhere if I don't have too.

Aww that is sad. I am sorry.

I think this may be your best bet. Although the gal is not quite at that truly "overdue" mark ... If it were me, I would talk to the vet &/or have the gal seen by a vet. She could go on to lay the eggs, and be just fine, but ... if there is a problem, it can be dealt with early on and, if it turns out that all is okay with her,... well, having peace of mind is a great feeling.:)
My best wishes are with you. Do keep us updated.

Welp My belly massage may have actually worked. I told the vet to wait till today that way it gave her more time after I kind of rocked those eggs a little. So I didn't check on her this morning but I did when he called to say he was on his way that way he didn't have to make a trip if he didn't have to. And he didn't have too. She had 4 HUGE eggs in there. She was at 100 grams before she became gravid and only dropped down to 72 grams. So she doesn't look to bad. I left her in with her eggs till this evening so she could rest and I could feed her. So now we are going to hope that with all of this stress I will win the lottery and prove mom and dads hets.

Her 4 nice white eggs.

I took this picture cause I am always amazed how much the eggs swell. The egg on the right is about 45 days and the on the left is the one she just layed. The one was about the same size maybe smaller when it was layed.

Woo-hooo! So glad that all turned out well!
She, actually, looks pretty good after laying those eggs.
Egg swelling (getting bigger) = Mother Nature is pretty cool!
Guess that, now, you & her can get some much needed, stress free, rest.:)

I've been following this, and now I'm breathing a sigh of relief for you and your girl. Good luck proving the parents' hets! ^_^

wow, it was about time she would lay!! I said she would be fine, but I begun to doubt that now... Congrats on the eggs!!

Awesome! Congratulations! I'm soo pleased she managed to pass those eggs & that now we can hopefully look forward to some beautiful baby snakeys in the nearish future.

Thanks everyone. I was surprised how good she did look I was so afraid. She looks a little dull but I think she may already be starting a shed cycle since it took her so long lay.

She looks great! Yay! Now you have time to prepare for the second clutch!! :)

That is what I am afraid of. Her mom does so I am just going to assume she is going to too. Just hopefully she gives herself more of a break. Her mom spits the second clutch right away.

I said she would be fine, but I begun to doubt that

My thoughts too.
More often, than not, all will turn out fine. I figured this gal would be just fine but, then, started to "wonder" as more time was going by. I guess my concerns were more heightened (toward the end), than they would normally be, due to a female I had bred this year... she had her pre-lay shed and, then, went into blue, for her post-lay shed, with no eggs laid. So, although some odd females may lay their eggs during their post-lay shed, off to the vet she went (just in case). It turned out that there were complications, that she could have died from (actually, the vet said she would have), had I not gotten her into the vet.

I am so glad, still, that everything turned out great for this li'l gal.:)

Although hopefully/preferably she won't double clutch, I think she turn out just fine with a second ... esp. considering that all turned out great with this one.
I would give her some calcium (with D3), on some of her feed, though. Most females do fine without calcium supplementation, since they get calcium from the mice they eat, but ... considering her young age, and likely younger feed items, it may not be a bad idea ('tis one of those "just in case" things).

Ok I need help with names

Eggs are due to hatch any second. I say that is stead of any day because 2-3 days ago they started to look "ugly". They are so thin now that they are starting to get windows. And they have been smelling like green peppers for about a week now. But I need help with names. I thought is was appropriate to name the babies hillbilly names since she got "raped" by her brother after being the same area for just a minute. There are 4 eggs and of course I have Ellie Mae but that is all I can come up with. Do you have an suggestions?

Update on momma: She is doing well. She has gained her weight back but she still looks thin so I think we need to work some more on exercise. She is showing no signs of double clutching so I am thankful for that.
