I am so sick to my stomach I could vomit.

Hoping all goes well for your li'l gal. I think she should do fine but will still keep fingers crossed anyway (never hurts).:)

I hope everything goes well for you and the snake!
I had something alike happen once, pet shop sold me 3 males and I cohabbed (were my first snakes). It turned out to be 1 male and 2 females... Result: 6 eggs, but mom did fine. She is smaller than another corn (can't get her to weigh more than 200-230 grams), but she lays every year again (even if I don't breed her) The other female didn't get pregnant (thank god!)

oh yeah, forgot to mention that my female wasn't one year old when she layed her eggs.

Thank you for the encouragement. I just tried to take her out for her daily exercising and she is in blue so back into her tank she went. So hopefully this will all be behind us in the next couple weeks. Luckily, I have a bunch of babies and a few more that will be due about the time that she is laying. So I will be good and distracted and not be fretting over her and make matters worse.

Christen, I'm really sorry to hear about this! I don't think it makes you a bad owner, sometimes poodoo happens. :(

I have to say, the carelessness of your family makes me sad for you. I couldn't imagine how it'd feel if someone caused harm to one of my babies. I'd be so furious! *hugs* It is unfortunately true that we hurt those closes to us the deepest, isn't it? :nope:

Before I knew any better my cohabbed snakes had a clutch at only a year old. Everything turned out fine for mom, but only one egg actually hatched and the resulting baby never did eat... I'm sure your girl will be fine.

Thank you both. Ironically, she shed today. I have had a sandwich type tub in her tank for her nesting box which I thought was to small even though she has been using it but I thought the shoe box ones I normally use would be to big and she wouldn't feel secure enough. So yesterday we finished off a tub of butter so I am going to get that in there and see if she likes it.

*Dave* Every time I look at Prudendece I am thankful it wasn't her. She is next to these two and on the same feeding schedule. I just knew if it was her she wouldn't make. She is just so darn petite. Long Long and skinny. I am not sure I could ever make this snake fat. She has a metabolism like my husband.

I just read through this. I'm really feel sorry for you and your snake and hope she lays her eggs with no problems. I know I would be pulling my hair out if that happened with one of mine.

Missy started do her "I am a new mom and freaking out" panic. Zooming all over that tank and in and out hide and nesting boxes. I just feel bad for new mommies no matter what kind of animal it is. They always get that scared look in their eye and there is no way you can reassure them it is going to be ok.

it will be just fine. She will lay her eggs and then she will eat a nice mouse for you.

Ok I can honestly say I am worried now. She shed 8 days ago, no big deal. She has been in and out of the nesting box with having periods of resting. Again no big deal. Today is bad. She has not rested once, in and out of box and going nuts literally all over. More so than she has been. I know that still sounds normal but what has me worried is the look of her belly. It is so tight and the eggs are so big that you can see each egg. And this just happened over night. I am going to sit back and observe for now but unfortunately it is starting to look like we might have to intervene. I really hope not but she is looking and acting more painful that just first time mom jitters.

I didn't realize, it is hard to describe gravid girl behavior. Although, all of you who have had gravid girls understand.

When my females are that restless, I just fill their entire enclosure with moss and put tons of hides in there. Just make sure she always has water available. I would also throw a towel over her enclosure and only check once a day. That will make her feel more secure and make all this easier.

You know Carol that is a really good idea about just filling the whole viv up with Moss. I think I am going to do that. That way she could use her normal hide as a nesting box if she wants too. I just don't like the look of her belly and of course I did take a picture of it this morning when I was checking on her but the camera died and I haven't gone out to get more batteries (it takes a stupid special kind) to put the pictures up and I am not going to bug her for pics with another camera. So I am going to give her a few more days to see if those eggs move down or get worse before I just go helping her unless of course if I feel like she needs intervention sooner.

So 2 days later those eggs haven't moved. Last night when I checked on her she had her tail up and she was pushing. Oh she did finally choose a nesting box. Just checked on her again and the eggs still hadn't moved from where they were and she now looks exhausted. Gave her a drink and of course she down almost the whole bowl. Poor baby. The drink did seem to give her a little boost. She looked brighter and the tail went back into the air. So crossing my fingers. I'll keep you posted, not sure if I will bug her tonight or if I will just wait till tomorrow. I will probably just wait cause if I check on her and feel it is time to go to the doctor then I will be stressed all night.

Pressed wrong button >:-/ was meant to say... Oh poor thing! The snake AND you! I really hope she gets those eggs out without you having to intervene & that she recovers quickly from laying. You must be frantic. My heart goes out to you & your poor little snakey.
