Sorry about the strictness of this requirement, but it is necessary to block spammers and scammers at the door as much as possible.

I have never been so glad to be here....

I got a mild case of food poisoning from an Arby's year ago. I was sicker than a dog in 100+ degree weather, so I became severly dehydrated since I couldn't keep even water in me. It was not something I care to repeat.

Interesting..... I've been reading a book called Secret Agents by Madeline Drexler lately that goes into this sort of thing in great detail. I think this book is going to get me to swear off of eating out completely.

So much food is being imported these days, especially from China, with VERY LITTLE worthwhile inspection being done, that I believe these sorts of problems are going to become much more prevalent.

And yes, people CAN die from this sort of thing.

About the only thing I get at a fast food place any longer is french fries and maybe a milk shake. And those incidents are few and far between.

Glad you pulled through it OK.

Hey, are you feeling any better?
Sorry about that, it really sucks.

Was it the BK south of I4?
I guess that I won't be filling my craving for a Whopper anytime soon:spinner:

Thanks once again folks...

dionythicus I've been hitting the Gatorade hard.

Thanks Rich for your well wishes. That particular book has been recommended to me.

Lisa, it was the BK on 98, Bartow Rd.

Hope you feel better soon. I think working on a gastro ward has probably exposed me to most of the gut-wrenching misery bugs there are. The only one I've ever got was the air-borne norovirus, and I was lucky enough to only vomit until I wanted to die. Ever see the movie 'The hole'? I truly thought I was going to die over my toilet bowl:puke01:

Janine, a co-worker got C diff (Clostridium difficile) from a patient. He missed two weeks of work and vomited/pooped away 35 pounds!! GI bugs are bad sometimes. Ever since then, I've treated C diff with a whole lot more respect!

Craig, if you read Fast Food Nation, I guarantee you won't be eating hamburgers for a long time!

Yep, we get cases of C.diff all the time, Campylobacter too! Because we're GI, anyone with diarrhea/vomiting gets sent to us so you can imagine how OCD I am about hand hygiene! We're not supposed to get infectious cases, just IBS, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, or hematemisis/maelena (apart from the GI cancers and liver problems) but it seems the other wards and A&E send us anyone with a hint of digestive upset. This then complicates care of our true client base because they are then potentially exposed to the infections on top of their existing problems.
