Yep, we get cases of C.diff all the time, Campylobacter too! Because we're GI, anyone with diarrhea/vomiting gets sent to us so you can imagine how OCD I am about hand hygiene! We're not supposed to get infectious cases, just IBS, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, or hematemisis/maelena (apart from the GI cancers and liver problems) but it seems the other wards and A&E send us anyone with a hint of digestive upset. This then complicates care of our true client base because they are then potentially exposed to the infections on top of their existing problems.
