Some of you saw this when I originally posted it...some didn't...Big things are happening for me...

I took this shot, in monotone, using filters attached my lens for exposure and light control, and using every piece of information I've garnered over the last 20+ years of being a photographer, in an effort to emulate my Hero and Idol...Ansel Adams.

After taking the shot, processing it, and sharing here, on my own site, and at Flickr.com...I was asked to submit it for closer inspection by the San Jose Museum of Art.

They are having an Ansel Adams exhibit starting tomorrow, 9/5 and running throuigh February 28, 2010. When the museum first started seeking modern images for a slideshow..there were tons, as ou can imagine. When I was asked to submit mine for consideration, there was around 100. The exhibition opens tomorrow, and mine is one of 41 images left.

So...during the Ansel Adams: Early Works exhibition at the San Jose Museum of Art...this photo...MY photo...will be shown along with 40 others in a digital slideshow, right alongside early prints made by Ansel Adams himself. The slideshow is an effort on the part of the museum to show how influential Adams' work is still today, even in the age of modern digital photography.

So yea...I'm pretty flippin' excited about this. I just had to share with you folks...

That's awesome. Both the event, and the photo. Well done. And, when you sell prints of that photo, let me know. :) I probably won't be able to afford it, but I'd like to know anyway.

Wow, that must be such an honour. From the examples of your work that you've posted you deserve it. Congratulations!

Chris, that is fantastic... I can tell you are made up, but the pic is awesome so no wonder it was picked.... Well done son and get a pic of you, yourself, stood in front of it at the exhibition for us to see..... Then we can all say... 'Hey, I know that guy'

I cannot see the picture on my server at work, but that is awesome, congrats.

Wow Chris thats great!!!!! I am so excited for you... Passion will take you a long way, and your passion for what you do truly shows in your work ;) Keep it up and youll keep rising to the top :)
Congrats!!!!!!!!!

That is fantastic news Chris - huge Congrats to you. I can only imagine how excited you must be. Ansel Adams is my "idol" in photography and I would love to be able to have an opportunity like that!

Congratulations Chris!
Does this come as a surprise to me?......No.

You're photography is superlative, all the way around.

Chris, Congratulations this is a huge honor. That is a magnificent piece as well you did. Are you going to sell prints? :)

My dream as yours was to emulate the man in his style of photography. I hardly take photos any more due to my vision. Plus I always wanted to do it the old way with a 8 x 10 camera.

Are going to start visiting the same site year after year at the same time of day like he did for some of his shots??

Awesome.. I am jealous.. Wish I had half the skill. Awesome Job Chris!

Regards.. Tim of T and J
