Introducing Cobalt the Blue Tongue Skink

This is my newest addition Cobalt. He is a 6 month old northern blue tongue skink and I love him dearly. He is still a little bit hissy in his cage, but I think he'll calm down soon. I got a great deal for him... the skink and a wonderful Vision Cage for $180. Plus we got all of his lighting, decorations, supplements, etc. for free :)

I have literally ALWAYS wanted a blue tongue skink, but the right time never presented itself before. He is technically a valentines gift from my girlfriend, but he was above our allotted price range for gifts so we just split the $180 price.

Yep, I'm onboard the "I love blue tongues" train too! Lizards with permanent blue raspberry sucker tongue are awesome in my book!

I love him!! If I ever get another lizard, that's what I would like. Post lots of pics of him!!

Thanks everyone! He's starting to get settled in... here are some pics of him out basking today and having his first big meal in his new home!

He enjoyed a big plate of bok choy, collard greens, fresh green beans, carrot, tomato, cucumber, banana, dog food, and chicken breast, all mushed up into one delicious stinky pile. He loved it and ate most of it without any problems!

How's this guy doing? How are you enjoying having him? What would you say are the pros and cons, if you don't mind. I've been itching to get a tegu down the road, but I've always liked BTS also.

I cannot get over how stupid cute he is! I love BTS. Cannot wait to have one someday.. And threads like this make me wish "someday" could be so much sooner!! An... acquaintance... of mine (with awful husbandry and too many animals) has finally decided to give up her Indo BTS, and it's all I can do to stop myself from getting him. Waaaant... D:
