A few months ago a family moved onto our street in the neighborhood. They are very nice and great people to have around. After the parents had been over to help my parents re-decorate some of the house...they found out I had snakes. They both proclaimed they hated snakes and that their daughter (13) and son (10) would be scared as well.
After my sister (13) met their daughter I brought her into my room to show her them...the parents were right, she was pretty freaked out. Then, just yesterday, the 10 year old boy came to my door and asked if I would show him the snakes. I could tell he was nervous but he touched a few and asked a lot of good adult like questions. (Not one was like "Do they get out", they were all like "So what time of year do you hibernate them").
So they best part is that they 13 year old girl called today and asked me if I would bring down some of the snakes and talk about "what I do" next Sunday when she has a girl scout meeting at her house. So I hope to get some young girls to appreciate them more! If any of them will hold the snakes I will take some pictures and let you all see. I am just in shock the parents will let me bring them there...
