Kanapaha Botanical Gardens

ArpeggioAngel

Around Here Somewhere....
I spent Saturday hanging out with Nanci in Gainesville. After a stop at the local home show (on UF Campus right next to the Swamp - GO GATORS!), we went to Kanapaha Botanical Gardens. Considering it is only March, there was quite a nice selection of blooms to photograph.
Please excuse the lack of names - I don't know what most of these were. Going to take me a few posts to get them all up so please hold comments until the end....

These next three are all from the same flowering tree - some sort of magnolia. It was very photogenic:

It really is a nice garden and I hope to go back again this summer. This is the same place Nanci caught the florida blue striped garter snake last year so maybe we can find some cool herps there again this year!
Thanks for looking - hope you enjoyed!

Gorgeous pictures! I especially like the green treefrog pictures! Adorable! And what a splendid place to visit. I love botanical gardens. Thanks for sharing! :}

I know there were camellia, azalea and magnolias in bloom...not sure which is which though...
Thanks for the compliment!

We have rhodies and azaleas out the wazoo in the NW. They are everywhere in landscaping. You need to come up here and do a photo shoot!!

One day I would like to. It is one area of the country that I have not visited yet and still want to. What I would REALLY like to do is take PCH all the way from about the middle of California up through Washington state. I have heard that it is a gorgeous drive... someday....
