Lee Abbott's Okeetees

CRIKEY!

New member
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone here has bought directly from Lee Abbott? Abbott Okeetees are one of my favorite phases/colors/lines (I don't know how you categorize it). I don’t know if most of the AOs that are sold today are more of a color phase rather than a bloodline from Lee. Maybe someone can explain. I was thinking if Lee has the cleanest & thickest black borders, I would like to buy right from the source. What do you think? BTW…if you own one, can you please show me a picture?
Cheers! :D

I have dealt with Lee directly and his snakes (imho) are the best of the best when it comes to Okeetees. He is a great person to work with and speak to. You can't go wrong contacting him directly about purchasing snakes from him.
Unfortunately, I had to sell the pair I had from him, but they were stunners!

I have gotten some of Lee's Okeetee Corns directly from him. They are IMO, the BEST out there. Here is a couple pics. of the male I got from him 2 years ago off his table in Daytona.
Not only does Lee's line produce some nice thick boarders, but they also display some brilliant & rich deep red/orange coloration.

Walter,
:crazy02: BOUT' CORNS !!

Never purchased anything directly from Lee...but you can guarantee his stock are from great lines. A lot of other breeders sell "abbotts" too, just can't always be sure it's genuine. Then again, if you're more interested in the color then the lineage- it doesn't really matter and might save a bit of money.

I <3 them....definitely one of the prettiest adult corns out there. And *good news* there are couple breeders out there who are trying to make them even better!

This is great to here. Your male is outstanding. His colors really POP! I don't know what it is, but AOs look wicked exotic to me. I love them.:crazy01: Thanks for the pics.

I don't have an Okeetee from Lee yet but I do have a Hypo Lavender from him and he is perfect. I was extremely happy with my purchase. When I do get an Okeetee I am definitely going to Lee. He has the best Okeetee's IMO.

I have a gravid female that I got from Lee in November. He was very pleasant to work with and very helpful explaining to me, before hand how to take them both out of brumation when they arrived since I had never done it before. My avatar is of Poseidon the day I got them. Poseidon has more squared saddles around his head.

Where Medusa has a few that resemble diamonds.

I was corresponding with Lee last June about getting a hypo lavender. At the last minute, I thought I'd have him throw an Okeetee in the order (he is the guy for that...). I can tell you it's been simply amazing watching this little guy change significantly with each shed. Lee is a great person to deal with as has already been said, and I just love my Okeetee guy from him. Here he is after his colors started coming in well. He still has a lot of changing to do I am sure!!!

This reminds me I need to do another photoshoot with him!

Aside from his beautiful snakes, he sounds like an awesome guy to do business with. If you get a chance, can you show me your Hypo Lav?

Incredible colors. I want to see progression pics as he changes.

Thanks everyone for your help. Keep the pics coming. :crazy01:

You might _want_ Lee to choose the snake for you! He knows what they are going to turn out like!

Ahhh gorgeous snake! This is exactly what I hope to get someday...

Oh...does Lee choose the snake for you, or can he show you photos to choose from?

When I first started corresponding with him about getting a pair, he said that he would pick a dynamite pair for us. My wife wanted a early 08 pair if he had any left. (she likes them to be past their squiggle stage) So I would have let him pick them. He does have some of his breeders up in the genetics page on his site so you probably could ask him about his clutch pairs and make a decision based on lineage, just a thought.

It's best to let Lee choose for you. He explained to me that some of the darker, less brightly colored hatchlings turn out to be the most stunning adults. My little guy was very dark and drab as a hatchling. I probably would have chosen a brighter one myself, so I am glad I had his expertise to rely on. He also lets you know who the parents are, so you can go to his website and see them...

Between my boyfriend and I we've got 3 snakes from Lee (one oke and two anery motleys het dilute), and an Abbott's line oke from South Mountain.

The oke I got directly from Lee was purchased in blue, but I trusted Lee when he said he would be pretty and I haven't been disappointed.

Here's Lancelot (direct from Lee)

Lancelot and Guinevere are brilliant. The Anerys are sweet too. Thanks for showing your babies.:eatpointe

My hubby bought a pair strait from Lee for me for Christmas in 07. Now, he does have 2 of his own corns, but he knows next to nothing when it comes to picking out a pair. He heard from a friend of mine that I had always wanted an Abbotts pair, so he googled the name and contacted Lee himself. They had been talking back and forth for about 2 weeks and poor hubby didn't have a clue about what to get. Lee must've emailed him a hundred pictures! After hearing about how much I do with corns, Lee finally suggested that they let me in on the secret so I could choose exactly what kind of babies I wanted (more red, big borders, etc).

Tot from him are absolutely gorgeous and are in perfect health. They were shipped to me promptly, and Lee even emails me once in a while to see how the Christmas pair is doing. I guess the email correspondence with hubby was that amusing to him lol!

This might be a horrible thing to ask (to pick favorites!), but do you have a favorite between your SMR / Abbotts Oke? I'm split right now as to who to get one from. I am not a breeder, I just want a pretty snake with bright colors & big ole black borders.
