George,
I raise leos here and typically it shouldn't take weeks for them to want to eat.
A gecko should eat off the bat. But hey, go ahead and find the answers you want to hear.
And yes, you do not have to answer to any one here. But then again, we may not respond to your HELP my animal is sick and dying posts any more.

The breastbone is a key indication that she's underweight, but just because an animal is underweight does not mean it's hopeless.
I bought molly my royal python as a snake that had NOT eaten for about 3 months, I was almost sure it was going to die, she was about 40-60grams. She's now 750grams and about 2.5ft long, doing really well and eating like a pig.
The gecko's tank is about 2.5ft. It has 3 normal hides, and 1 humid hide, a waterbowl, and a food bowl.
 
George, I just got my son to get our leopard gecko out so we could compare her chest to your picture. We could just about make out the shape of her sternum, and think yours looks seriously underweight.
Waxworms are usually taken readily, but they are very fatty and not to be used as a staple, our girl eats mainly mealworms and crickets, with small locusts or waxworms as occasional treats.
If you suspect impaction, please get her to a vet. We lost our first leo because it had been kept on sand, at a rubbish petshop, It was heartbreaking and I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone.
If yours does poop, it might be a good idea to get a fecal exam done, in case it has parasites that are making it ill.
 
Well, I hope she starts eating for you! I must say in the 20-odd years I've been keeping Leos, and nursing rescues etc. back to health, I've never seen a sternum sticking out like that. Even the ones that were so emaciated they were on death's door, and had to be slurry-fed, the sternum was rarely visible like that.
I'm really worried about your lil guy. I'll also echo what tricksterpup said in that I've never had a new arrival not eat within 3 days, unless they were severely ill. *If I were in your position*, I'd be getting x-rays etc. done. I always like to err on the side of paranoia when it comes to my babies :) Vet, toute suite!
I second the suggestion of getting waxworms as well! Those things are like crack to Leos, they usually do the trick :D If a vet checkup concludes that the lil guy is just underfed, you can absolutely beef him back up. But it's hard to tell from a picture on the screen :) Get him looked at, purdy please.
 
Thank you, I just weighed in her in at 19 gram. So yes, she's VERY underweight and still has not eaten.
I'm going to give the petstore man a phone call later, I'll get some waxworms this morning though, try them first.
If she won't eat them, he'll have to take her back.
X-rays and medication will cost me a lot, and thats fine. But why should I have to pay all that in the first week of me owning her.

It's really upsetting me this, I can't even sleep..

My mum spoke with the petstore owner and he put the gecko into her old enclosure where she ate straight away! -.-
He's going to keep her for few days, and if she does not pick up then I'm entitled to go and choose another one, if she does, I can have her back.

I just feel so stupid atm, this all can't be my fault.. I'm sure to go that I got all the requirements correct..
 
Perhaps Leos aren't for you.......TBH....The shop owner shouldn't be selling any animals that are below par...You are entitled to your money back.....To pick another animal from his stock just encourages him to carry on selling....Get your money and run.......

I am sick of people judging on this site, people expecting answers and demanding you listen to there advise.

I'm glad shes eating, and when she returns here she'll be left long enough to settle before I even consider handling her.
 
But....she's definitely underweight, and she didn't eat for you. As soon as she moved back to the shop, she ate.
So why is she underweight? Does she have parasites? Did the shop feed her often enough?
Why didn't she eat if your set-up is perfect?
I'm not trying to put you down, but maybe you need to think it through before you take her back?
You certainly don't have to justify your actions, but this is similar to the other threads where you've vacillated and got cross at people trying to give the advice and opinions you've asked for.

George you asked for advice....Sorry if I didn't say what you wanted to hear.....All I can give you is my opinion.....And my opinion is you are not looking at these animals properly before you buy....You said the shop was below standard, that should of set alarm bells ringing....I'm a lot luckier than most of you on here..(except for T and J to name Two I can think of off hand). I don't get to pick alone, I got a partner (in Joel). We have to decide between us, which makes us both look hard at what we're doing.We argue a lot about our direction, but when we choose it's a joint thing.......I know you haven't got the luxury of a fresh point of view when you go out, so you need to learn to be your own devils advocate......
And that reply sounded like a little kid...Sorry......And I don't want your respect, you don't know me, I'm just some guy that posts.......Now go and get your money back..... ;)
 
George, I understand you are a bit raw at the moment... the thought of losing any pet is tough especially when you don't understand what you have done wrong.

However you need to realise that nobody is trying to put you down or MAKE you follow their advice. It seems you only want to follow the advice you want to hear and not the hard reality that perhaps you bought an unhealthy gecko that NEEDS to be returned.

If you are going to post threads that demand advice quickly, then you need to be prepared to listen to all of it. Take from it what you can, be humble and appreciate the fact people are taking time out of their day to reply to your thread :)

What is different about the set up at the shop, and your set up at home? Should you decide to take her back, rather than a different one, or just a refund, what could you copy at home to make her feel at home this time?
 
There you go George, what more do you need.....Every one knows the wispers and Montages don't always see eye to eye. But when they agree on something, well it speaks volumes.....Nice one Elle, good reply...ROTW...... ;)
 
I do understand, and It may seem I rushed into getting a leo, but if you search back in my threads you may see one or two and then understand that a leo is something I have been interested in getting for atleast a year now.

I'm not sure why she would not eat at my house, maybe she just needed more time. I'm sorry for getting all defensive but I am a little frustrated here, I have not slept properly for 2 days from worrying and Im already ill with a tummy bug.

I will explain both the petstores enclosure and mine, and then I'll leave it upto you to diecide which you think is best.

the petstore :

A 2.5ft viv, 1 hide, 1 waterbowl, woodchip, and a lamp.

my set-up:

A 2.5ft tub, 3 normal hides, 1 wet hide, a waterbowl, foodbowl, undertank heater for belly-heat.

I just spoke with my mum on the phone, and she said the petstore owner said she's only 6 month old -.-

If she starts eating better, and I do diecide to bring her home, then I hope she has a nice future with me.
If she continues to go downhill, and I choose another one or get my money back, then I'll buy another one thats a good size.
