Lighting!

George!
Well, i cant really afford a real reptile lamp and the wiring, so would a 15w aquarium light do?because up to now my snakes been just living of my bedroom light,

also i saved £30 for a bigger UTH ATM i have a 1 ft UTH for my 2 ft tank, will the same UTH be enough for my 3.5 ft tank when i get it next week? or will i have to go bigger?

Cornsnakes are "crepuscular," (active at dawn and dusk) and do not need UV (ultraviolet- like from the sun) light. Any light you proveide is only so you can see him better.

:shrugs: what is the point in this?
also, please read the link in my signature as it may prevent future, unnecessary threads.

I think it was primarily to say "thanks", which was left out of the quote, and to have a polite conversation...

Someone just answered his question. Should he not be polite enough to respond?

Yea, sorry if i "affended you" the way we can deal with this situation is next time you see a thread saying "jdizzyfizzy" just ignor it, let the people who like to help sort things out, thanks.

I think he was comparing his snake's times of activity to my definition of crepuscular.

And George, Galen is providing a vast list of links that cover about everything corn-related.

Are you serious? I always thought they did. I don't have any for my snakes..So at least I don't feel like a bad mommy now.
Another thing Petco was wrong at. They told me they need one. Grr...
Good thing I didn't buy one..

thanks nanci hun, i just dont like it when grumpy old men say my threads are worthless :/

Calling everyone grumpy old men isn't going to make people happy either.

well, he shouldnt call my thread worthless, i needed to know some answers so i posted and he give me bad advise he said go there if ur a newcomer, what newcomer has 170+ posts?

Yes. Easily. Being a newcomer does not involve how many posts you have. It relies on how long you've been on the forum. In the next three days, I could easily get myself up to 200 posts. I could start fights with established members of the forum, and/or post unnecessarily. I've chosen not to do that, however, because quality counts more than quantity. Also, I understand that in order to become a respected member of the community, I have to take whatever the knowledgeable individuals say in stride.

That's it..I've had enough. Anyone that is not 20 years or more older than I am is no longer allowed to refer to themselves nor be referred to by any other member as "grumpy", "old", or "crotchety", or any combination of those three words... :grin01:

well.......now you are "affending" me, as well as others, after reading your other posts. do you realize that since you became a member on Dec. 23rd (8 days) you have personally started 20 threads with topics including: heating, feeding, shedding, holding, hides, etc....... :shrugs: all that was needed was more work on your part and less laziness to get your answers. you have been given links and told to use the search button on this site but somehow those options are not good enough for you. i understand newer people can ask a question or two about something that has already been answered, but you have taken that profession to a new level. my reply was more of a sarcastic remark, or that was the way that it was intended, but now you have been put on "ignor". i do like to help, as has been noticed in the past, but after reading some of your other threads with some elite well-respected members trying to tell you the same thing, i don't think i can try anymore.

good luck to your snake.

Normally i would reply with a nasty reply to the above message, but since ive changed and ignoring all threads that have got out of hand, or out of date, all ill say is "Happy New Year" : )

Regards,
George.
