I thought maybe it's a gravid female, so I released her at our house (10 min. walk from where she was found)!!:)

It's a Nothern Brown (Storeria dekayi dekay). Hopefully we have some little brownies running around here soon!!!;)

I caught one of those couple months ago,
I posted the picture of it few weeks ago, on here.

I used to catch those all the time when I lived in Southern Ontario. DeKay's are really gentle. I used to love my childhood herping days back in Ontario...here on Vancouver Island, we are very limited in the types of snakes here, several varieties of garters and sharp tail snakes..that's it. Oh, captive bred corns too!!!!

Ello love's. Just so happens I heard about this thread and decided I simply HAVE to come over and show off my little jewel.

That's a lovely little adult female, and heavily gravid at that, Dekay's brown snake. I recently found one just like her that was patternless in my garden... probably happily munching on slugs!!

Going to breakfast... so I'll just quickly post these!!! Here he/she (too small to pop) is!!
This snake takes small worm pieces off my tongs every other day!

Twice a year we have those little browns everywhere! I found one in my driveway a few days ago. They're nice little snakes. I think they only get to be about 12" long as an adult. I also had a BIG black rat snake go up into my crepe myrtle and clean out a whole nest of baby birds. That thing climbed like a monkey.
